Police find items related to missing Simi Valley man during search
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Simi Valley police and other volunteers Saturday found items related to the ongoing search for a missing elderly man, officials said. Augustine Macias, 74, has been missing since Nov. 20 and he was not found during the search. Police, however, said "several items of interest" were found and the investigation is continuing. Police organized an extensive search for Macias, 74, on Saturday in a seven-mile area west of Tapo Street.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Search continues for man missing since November

Two months after their search for missing Simi Valley resident Augustine Macias came up empty, police conducted another search last weekend in hopes of locating him or obtaining some new information that could lead to his whereabouts.

The search covered the area of the Arroyo Simi west of Tapo Street to the city limits. While several “items of interest” were found, according to police, none have been confirmed as belonging to Macias.
