GUILTY OH - Zeeland Grove, 2 mos, dies of head trauma, Canton, 9 Feb 2015

CANTON, Ohio — A father faces a murder charge after police said he hit his 2-month-old with a coffee mug while arguing with his wife.

Anthony Benjamin Grove, 33, was arrested Tuesday after the boy died that morning at Akron Children's Hospital of serious head injuries, and hospital workers notified police. Grove also was charged with child endangering and domestic violence and is being housed in Stark County Jail.

The Canton resident is accused of throwing a ceramic coffee mug at his wife during an argument, detectives said. Instead, he hit his son, Zeeland Grove.

A Canton man will spend eight years in prison for throwing a ceramic mug during a heated argument that hit his infant son in the head, causing the child’s death.

Anthony B. Grove, 34, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony... He also pleaded guilty to a count of endangering children.
