An Albertville 15-year-old has been missing for more than a week, and his family is asking for the public's help in finding him. Jason Glenn Richards was last seen at Zaxby's in Guntersville on Feb. 8. We Help the Missing, an organization that aids family searching for lost loved ones, describes Richards as about five feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.

He has dark brown hair and blue eyes. The teen, a student at Albertville High School, may be using a lime green iPhone.

An Albertville teen believed to have run away nearly a month ago is still gone, and police believe he may be in danger...

Albertville police investigators told AL.com's news partner, WHNT News 19, that the 15-year-old is considered a runaway, but that they believe the length of time he's been gone could mean he is in danger.

Richards, a student at Albertville Middle School, has run away before, but has always returned home after a few days, the news station reported.

Jason Glenn Richards, missing since February 8th
15 year old Jason Glenn Richards has been missing since February 8th. Richards is a White male with blue eyes and dark brown hair. The teenager was dropped off by friends in the parking lot of Zaxby's in Guntersville and has not been seen or heard from since. "And the time frame is what is concerning to us. He's been missing for three weeks, and this is out of the ordinary. So we're getting concerned because of the time that has elapsed" Smith said.

Authorities still searching for Albertville teen missing since Feb. 8
Police, private investigators and family members are still searching for 15-year-old Jason Glenn Richards, who was reported missing more than a month ago. The Albertville student was last seen in Guntersville on Feb 8. There has been no contact from him since. Investigators say he has run away before but never for this long.

Major Jamie Smith of the Albertville Police Department said detectives are still actively looking for Jason. Some searched for him out of town this week but found nothing.

Smith said it is "out of normal" for a juvenile to disappear for this long, although the department has encountered cases of this length before. As with any missing person, authorities are primarily concerned with Jason's safety.

Body of missing Albertville teen found; no arrests made in 15-year-old's death

Though a positive identification has not been made, officials said items found at the scene lead them to believe the body is that of Richards.

A cause of death has not been determined, but Assistant Police Chief Jamie Smith said that the investigation is leaning toward foul play in the teen's death.

This is so incredibly sad. I remember when his mom was posting his photo all over Facebook because the police were not willing to help at the time. My heart is broken for her and the rest of his family.

There was another case a couple of years ago where a teen girl went missing and the police refused to investigate. They also "labeled" her as a runaway. Upon pleas from the mother, some citizens did investigation and found a surveillance video showing the girl in trouble and the person responsible. That lead to the arrest and confession of the murderer and he actually told them where to find her body.

My heart aches for Jason's family! How desperate they must have felt because they knew (intuition or rumor) that he didn't just "run away".

:rose: R.I.P. Jason :rose:

May justice come swiftly against those responsible. The family deserves nothing less!

Any chance someone remembers what case this was? Can I find a link?
