Have wondered for some time if the remains are that of Marcus John Schmidseder.

Marcus was last seen 9 June 1998 at a bank in the town of Massey, Ontario, not far from where these remains were located 17 months later.

Marcus was 24 years, 6' 2" - his family last saw him in Mississauga, Ontario on 29 May 1998.

While Marcus is white, the remains found on 17 Nov 1999 are not necessarily from a native or First Nation person. The height and age range is so close as is the location to where Marcus was last seen.

Submitted this possibility once before - a few years ago. No response from Peel Region Police. Maybe someone else would care to try?

There is a case that will soon go to trial (or possibly has) of a young girl found in Toronto or Peel Region, in a burning suitcase. For a decade or so LE looked for someone from Ethiopia as per the expert that examined her remains. She was from Jamaica and had never been reported missing by her father and step-mother. It's the expert opinion on the found remains that I worry about - Ontario has a poor track record in this area.
