Police: Weeks-old baby boy missing from Woodland area
Mom was missing too, but has since been found
An infant is missing from the Woodland area, police said Tuesday as they searched Yolo County. The baby's 23-year-old mother, Samantha Green, was also considered missing for a time, but she has since been found in Knights Landing, according to officials. It appears Green turned up late Tuesday afternoon. It's not clear where she was, but she is safe, police said.

Officials took Green to Woodland Memorial Hospital as a precaution.

Her infant son, Justice Rees, is only about 2 weeks old. The search centers around the Knights Landing area at this time, police Capt. Dale Johnson said Tuesday night. The Woodland Police Department doesn't have many other details. Officials took the missing persons case Monday.

Ugh, what happened to Baby Justice? Why is he not with his mother? Prayers for his safety, but this doesn't sound hopeful!

The 23-year-old mother of Justice Rees told authorities last night the two were kidnapped on Monday. She was found late yesterday, after officers heard her calling for help along a slough west of Knights Landing in Yolo County. She was said to be hysterical and very disoriented.

Kidnapped? From where? By whom? Under what circumstances? Where is baby daddy? Mom's mental health history?

Oh no. This already does not sound good.

ETA: Nothing new yet.

Mom and baby missing Monday am, mom found 5 pm yesterday.

LE has info baby may have been left in search area. Treating as crime scene but LE hopes it's a rescue operation - “babies are resilient.”

What exactly is a slough? Is that like a swamp?

Area searched was between mom's car and where she was located. Boat patrol spotted baby.

Thicket of brush right off slough. Will need tools to cut path to the body.

No more info at this time. He's going to prepare press release.

Mom and family was notified. Investigators still talking to mom. Was difficult getting info from her but notes her trauma.

Not treated as homicide yet, not enough info.

Pressers over but cameras are still on, it looks like family members are present.

Something makes me think mom already knew.

What a beautiful baby :(. RIP sweet Justice.

I don't even know what to say.... Heartbreaking. I just wanted this one to turn out different. RIP Sweet Baby Justice.

Don't know if it's family or searchers - they're in a group circle, praying. I'm not religious but it breaks my heart to see it. :tears:

Sort of. We don't call them swamps it's more of a wetlands area.

Along the West Coast, sloughs are often named for the quiet, backwater parts of bays and therefore, they are part of the estuary, where freshwater flows from creeks and runoff from land mix with salty ocean water transported by the tides.
