A 3-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital after being shot in the head in northwest Harris County, according to Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constables. The shooting happened shortly before 1 p.m. Friday in the 7400 block of Betanna Drive in the Hearthstone subdivision.

Neighbors said the family involved moved in recently.

The mother told deputies she was home with her two sons when her 3-year-old somehow got access to a gun and shot himself in the head.

OMG why are these children finding these loaded guns. Why are parents not taking care of the guns. There is no reason for a toddler/child to get a hold of a gun. Very sad cases, 3 in the last 4 days in the link above. Ones to many.

Maybe this thread should be called children who "accidentally" shoot themselves or other children?

Police say a 3-year-old Coffee County boy has shot his 18-month-old brother in the head.

The Coffee County Sheriff's Department said the toddler shot the infant with a .25-caliber automatic pistol in a home Tuesday afternoon

Sgt. Danny Ferrell told the Associated Press that investigators are still trying to determine how the child was able to get a hold of the weapon.

Pretty obvious that the 3yo got a hold of an unsecured gun. Will these parents and the other parents in this thread ever faces charges??
