A Mount Prospect woman who gave prescription drugs to teens is facing several charges, including endangering the life of a child, after most of the teens got sick and were taken to the hospital, police said.

Laura Kayler, 35, of the 1444 S. Busse Road, is charged with three counts of endangering the life of a child, three counts of reckless conduct, and one count of use of premises for the consumption of alcohol.

Police said she offered them prescription drugs Xanax, an anti-anxiety medication, and Seroquel, typically used for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

After posting $100 bond today, she was released. Her next court date is 9 a.m. Aug. 19 in the Rolling Meadows courthouse.

Shortly after midnight Thursday morning, police responded to a call that someone in Kaylerís apartment was unconscious.

Upon arrival, police found six Mount Prospect teens in varying degrees consciousness with one person unconscious, police said.

Two males, ages 16 and 18, and two females, ages 15 and 16, were taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, police said.

Six teens were drinking beer while hanging out Wednesday evening on an apartment patio in the Timberlake Apartments when Kayler invited them into her apartment at about 10 p.m., police said.

Over the next several hours, four of the teens ingested the pills and became ill.
