MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - One neighborhood, two bodies — discovered three months apart. The families of Cekia Armstrong and Nina Cook believe someone is targeting women in Whitehaven.
Cekia's naked body was found in a drainage ditch in August 2014, just around the corner from where Nina Cook's naked body was discovered three months earlier.
Both women's bodies were stripped of clothing and personal belongings. Neither of the women had a car and either walked, or relied on friends, to get where they were going.
Nina's last known address was at a house on Hodge Road; Cekia's body was discovered directly across the street.
Cekia's mom says her daughter battled a drug addiction, and Nina's longtime friends say she too battled addiction.

Days turned into months with no word from the aspiring music artist.
"The last tweet that we found was June 27," said Smith. "She said that she was going to movies and Houston's restaurant."
In October 2014, a crew cleaning up part of the property on the old Cummings Street Baptist Church grounds in Whitehaven found Nina. Her body was found in a back room. Her body was so decomposed, it took until February 2015 to rule her death a homicide.
A Crime Stoppers report says Nina was "brutally murdered."
"We can't just piece it together," said Smith. "We can't fathom why someone would do this to her."
Nina's last known address is less than one mile from the church where her body was found. She lives directly across the street from the drainage canal where 39-year-old Cekia Armstrong was found dead and naked.
If you know anything about Nina's whereabouts before her death, please call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
(It should be noted that Nina Cook had recently received a refund check from an online class. The check was cashed at a local ACE check cashing location on Poplar Ave. A receipt shows that Nina he'd loaded $500 onto another individual's Green Dot card.)

(WMC) - Two young boys found a woman's naked body in a ditch Friday afternoon. The woman appears to have been in her 40s, according to police. The body was found at Hodge Road and Whiteville Avenue, which is located just north of Westhaven Elementary School.
An 11-year-old was playing basketball by the curb with friends when one of them accidentally threw the ball in the ditch. Two of the kids went to look for the ball and saw legs, which initially led them to think it was a dummy. After the gruesome discovery, they went to tell their grandmother, who called police.

On Tuesday, October 7, 2014, Memphis Police Department officers assigned to East Raines Station responded to the 200 block of Sullivan. A decomposed body was discovered inside a vacant home that was being prepared for sale.
The victim was later identified as Nina Cook (28). Ms. Cook was reported missing by family members on September 25, 2014. She had actually gone missing weeks earlier. Evidence recovered at the scene led investigators to believe Nina Cook was brutally murdered. On February 9, 2015, Shelby County Medical Examiners ruled Nina Cook’s death as a homicide following extensive forensic testing of evidence recovered at the scene.
This murder is being investigated by Memphis Police Department’s Homicide Bureau. To date, no arrests have been made. Investigators continue to piece together a timeline between Ms. Cook’s last conversations with friends or family and the day she was reported missing. Citizens with information about this murder, or who may know who’s responsible, are asked to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH (2274) or Homicide Bureau at 901-636-3300.

Here are a few more unsolved murders with similar details but from 2011. Whoever this guy is he apparently is still getting away with it. I wonder if there is a connection?

They may very well be connected ChaosandOrder, hello and welcome. Thanks for bringing that link to the thread. I had checked on the status of these two murders periodically since they were posted and looked at the case a bit but surprisingly didn't run across the others from 2011.
I cant quite remember all the details but some time last year there was a girl who was attacked and had got away, I think it was on the south east side of Memphis, anyway the guy was arrested and I thought at the time it might have been related but apparently it wasn't. The cemeteries are about four miles from where Cekia and Nina were found.
Its odd that the article doesn't mention these two murders.
