Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

There's something confusing in the articles. Why was he reported missing Monday night, when he was seen at home at 10:30 p.m. that same night? He apparently usually plays jazz on Monday nights but if he was seen at home that night that's not "missing". Hopefully that will be cleared up.

Jazz Corner owner Bob Masteller reported missing; car found on Cross Island bridge
The owner of a popular jazz club on Hilton Head Island is still missing, after a daylong search near where his minivan was found.
Masteller, 76, was last seen by his wife at their Sea Pines home around 10:30 p.m. Monday, Capt. Bob Bromage said. The Sheriff's Office was notified Tuesday morning that he had not returned home.

Masteller's minivan was found in the southbound breakdown lane on the Charles Fraser Bridge over Broad Creek around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. It was not immediately clear how long the van had been parked, Bromage said.

A few hours after the body of a missing Hilton Head Island jazz club owner was apparently found in Broad Creek on Monday, his family memorialized the longtime island resident and well-known music enthusiast... saying he was "deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed"...

The dock, on a curving section of Broad Creek, is about a mile downstream from the Charles E. Fraser Bridge, where Masteller's wife, Lois, found his minivan March 10, according to a Sheriff's Office report released over the weekend.
