UNSOLVED KY - Jefferson Co., Skeletal Remains near Lake Louisvilla, Mar'15

Just wanting to verify something I think I understand about this. The way just about all kinda phrase something funny that could be taken two ways.

They haven't released an age range. And the person likely died 7-15 yrs ago..?

Some of the local commenters seem to think that the age range was 7-15.

Am I right?

I took it to mean the remains have been there 7 - 15 years.

"A team of Louisville Metro Police Department recruits is doing a line search -- going through the woods inch by inch.

"If we find something, we'll go a little bit further and we'll go a little bit further if we don't find something," LMPD Sgt. Emily McKinley said.

If they see something out of the ordinary, they put down a flag and that item is investigated.

"If they see anything that might be out of the ordinary, if they see clothing that might be relevant, anything that may appear to be possible bone fragments, any sort of hair or fabric that might be out of the ordinary for a wooded area," McKinley said".

Wednesday, a forensics team began sifting through rock and soil, closely watching anything that might resemble human remains. The medical examiner has yet to confirm the age, gender or race of this person or whether they're looking at homicide or natural causes. It's just too soon to tell with too little evidence.

Cadaver dogs were brought back for a second day to help indicate areas of focus...

At this point police have not found any other remains but could not say how long they will continue their efforts.

The search for human remains has ended in an eastern Jefferson County neighborhood this week, after construction crews discovered a human skull there Monday.

Louisville Metro Police confirmed new findings of bones last night, but would only say they are human...

Neighbors are mixed on why they ended up here... Lance Redmon says this remote area of town is often used as a dumping ground that most people would not visit unless they had a specific reason.

"The skull was found Monday and late afternoon Wednesday, police say they discovered additional bones.

Police say hair has also been found, but they still don't know the gender, race or identity of the person.

"We would like to find some teeth to look at dental records, but when you find bone and it's just bone, it's going to take a while to identify somebody," Sgt. Emily McKinley, of the LMPD Homicide Unit.

One layer of soil at a time is being removed so police can look for evidence.

"We'll slowly dig deeper and deeper into the ground," Sgt. McKinley told WDRB".

That Janet March story is something else! Sounds like what movies are made of!

The thoughts & opinions stated above are that, MY random thoughts & opinions.

What about Janet March, wife of Perry, a disgraced Nashville attorney? She disappeared, "took a vacation" in 1996. Her f-in-law recalls burying her corpse "somewhere" in Kentucky.

I think Janet is in southern Kentucky somewhere around Bowling Green. Her father-in-law said that his son had buried her in Bowling Green and he helped him move her body.

It's almost certain Perry (husband) had something to do with her death and just seems like an all-around a/h. But he doesn't sound like he'd be the type who would want to be around the smell long enough for a drive to Louisville. August in Kentucky can get quite hot/humid. It doesn't say how long between her murder and the reinternment, but any corpse would smell awful pretty quick.

As I understood the investigation, the old man disposed of her body. His son killed her. The old man was so demented by the time police questioned him he could not remember much about anything, let alone where in Kentucky he buried a body a decade earlier, especially after road construction had been going on through the area for several years. The elder March was in his 80's when police were questioning him.

Any more on the remains found in March? Age, gender, additional remains?

“It's something we have been trained on, but now to actually put it into process, it's been a learning experience for everyone involved,” McKinley said.

Once police know who the person is, they will also look to the public to try and figure out what happened to him or her. They’re done with the Lake Louisvilla site pending a tip or lead.

Police say the skull had likely been there seven to 15 years.
