A 17-year-old northern Wisconsin girl killed her mother and stepfather and locked her three younger siblings in a room with some food before fleeing to Indiana with a 22-year-old man, sheriff's deputies said.

Investigators said the oldest girl, age 9, told them Martinson killed her parents. The girl said she was in the living room with her stepmother, Jennifer Ayers, and heard two gunshots. The stepmother ran upstairs. The girl followed and saw her fighting with Martinson, according to the complaint...

Authorities received information that Martinson was traveling south with Ryan Sisco, 22, and the two were arrested in Boone County, Indiana, about 7:50 p.m. Sunday. Martinson was evaluated at a hospital because of some injuries and transferred to the Boone County Jail. Martinson apparently acted alone in the homicides, Oneida County sheriff's officials said.

What has emerged thus far is an unusual tale of a 17-year-old girl who blogged about death and killing and posted artwork online of flayed skulls and beheaded babies, a stepfather who routinely was away from his family for weeks at a time, and a community that knew little about the family involved.

Neighbors said the family — the Ayerses, three young girls and Martinson — had recently moved from North Dakota, and Thomas Ayers told them that he worked in the oil industry there. He would stay in Wisconsin for two weeks and then travel back to North Dakota for the next two, they said, leaving his family in the Northwoods as he worked...

Martinson had described similar murder scenes in a blog she maintained, written under her screen name VampireChick and titled "Nightmare." That blog was visible Tuesday to anyone with an Internet connection, but by the end of the day, it had been taken down. The blog, illustrated with drawings of skulls and demons, contained short stories, poems and links to other gothic-style websites. Many of the short stories revolved around death and murder.

Thomas Ayers’ sister, Barbara Curtis, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that her brother married Jennifer Ayers about a year ago. The youngest girl was their biological child and the other two younger girls were Thomas Ayers’ from a previous relationship, Curtis said.

Martinson did not waive extradition at an initial hearing Tuesday in Indiana and remained in jail. She has an April 8 extradition hearing scheduled and was being held without bond...

Her friend, Jon Rasmussen, told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that Martinson, who moved to rural Piehl, near Rhinelander, Wisconsin last year, had a difficult home life. Rasmussen told the paper that Martinson's parents were hard on her; he said they made her pay rent to live at home, and would strictly limit her activities.

But despite her struggles at home, Rasmussen said he was "astonished" and "almost passed out" when police came to question him about Martinson's role in her parents' murders...

After the killings, police say Martinson stopped by Rasmussen's house to drop off her dog. It was after midnight, and she asked if he could watch the dog for a few days, because she had to go to a funeral in Kansas. The next day she was gone.

An argument over a boyfriend sparked a 17-year-old rural Rhinelander girl to kill her mother and stepfather in March, a sister of the teen charged in the deaths told investigators, according to court documents.

Ashlee Martinson, 17, is charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and three counts of false imprisonment in Oneida County, where she was ordered Friday to be held on a $750,000 cash bond as her case progresses.

She brutally murders step-father and mother but in sharp contrast, treats her younger sisters with such care. More to this story, imo.

Martinson then came downstairs and put cartoons on, according to the complaint. The girl told investigators Martinson was bloody and told the girls she had fallen down the stairs. Martinson took two showers before locking the three girls in a room and leaving the home, the complaint said.

No more to this story than parents not letting her see or date an older man.She did not harm the sisters because they were not stopping her from seeing the boyfriend. This has been a frequent crime with social media and facebook young girls percieve themselves in a relationship and parents are stopping any contact.

December 11. A second examination has been ordered for the Rhinelander area teenager accused of killing her parents last March and locking siblings in a room. 17 year old Ashlee Martinson was arrested last March in Indiana and brought back to Oneida county to face two counts of first degree intentional homicide and three counts of false imprisonment. Martinson has entered pleas of Not Guilty By Reason of Mental Disease or Defect to the charges.

A court appointed mental health expert has done an examination with Martinson. In court Friday, Martinson's attorney Amy Ferguson requested the defense wants to have Martinson examined by their own mental health expert... "....we would request a time frame of approximately 75 days for the defense consideration of that examination. We had an opportunity to speak with (Judge Michael Bloom's) judicial assistant and found the date of March 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. would work for a status conference..."

A now-18-year-old girl who gunned down her stepfather and stabbed her mother 35 times after an argument about the man she was dating pleaded guilty Friday to reduced homicide charges.

Ashlee Martinson of Rhinelander, Wis., who with her boyfriend was the subject of a nationwide manhunt following the killings, was accused of killing her mother, Jennifer Ayers, 40, and stepfather, Thomas Ayers, 37, in their rural Rhinelander home. She will be sentenced June 17 and faces a maximum of 120 years in prison.

Martinson told police that she was subjected to years of mental, verbal, physical and sexual attacks from her mother’s boyfriends — one of whom, she claimed, burned her with a cigarette and once raped her when she was 9, according to the court documents.

Martinson said her stepfather was no exception.

Over th
e years, Thomas Ayers had been accused of assault, kidnapping, child enticement and party to the crime of sexual assault of a child under 15, according to court documents, which noted that he “had numerous prior arrests and convictions."

Two of
Martinson’s sisters told authorities that Ayers would hit them “very hard” with “a thick belt and his hand” — on several occasions until “their buttocks nearly blistered,” according to the documents.

They
said he had choked them and had punched one of the girls in the face, giving her a black eye.

een told police that her stepfather once climbed on top of her mother, pinned her down, put a gun to head and pretended to sexually assault her, saying “just like your father,” according to court documents.

-appointed doctors said Martinson was neglected by her mother, who did not provide “a safe environment for her,” according to the documents.

Martinson’s 17th birthday, she texted her 22-year-old boyfriend, Ryan Sisco, to say that she had woken up as her mother was being beaten by her step-father. “I can’t take this s— anymore,” she wrote, according to the documents. “He’s gonna kill her if she doesn’t leave soon and I don’t want to be around."

such a grim situation for all of these girls IMO :(

This case was covered on Crime Watch Daily today. Video should be uploaded later on CWD's fb or youtube.

The appeals court has sided with the circuit court in its denial of a new trial for Ashlee Martinson.

Late last month, the appeals court wrote, "Under the circumstances here, we conclude the circuit court did not erroneously exercise its sentencing discretion when it considered that Martinson had a choice whether to kill."
