Family members of a young woman found murdered Sunday morning in a field in rural Leavenworth County are dealing with shock and grief at the sudden loss of Karissa Warren. The 22-year-old Kansas City, Kan., resident had just spent time with them on Saturday. They played cards before she headed out. That was the last time they saw her...

On Sunday morning at about 8:30 a.m., her body was found in the field near the Leavenworth/Wyandotte county line.

Investigators have not released how Warren died.

Her boyfriend, 25-year-old Terez Racy, was shot several times last September as he was sitting in his car in the 3800 block of Garfield Avenue in Kansas City. Warren was with her boyfriend and drove him to the hospital where he would die from his injuries. "They were real close," Berry said.

Authorities charged Carlos Robertson with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Warren's family doesn't believe her death is related to the murder of her boyfriend. "I know the guy who did it and he doesn't have a lot of family," Berry said. "And he's in jail."
