    ID - Ted, 80, Elaine, 77, & Thomas Welp, 52, murdered, Ada County, 8 March 2015

    http://www.670kboi.com/common/page.p...4392&is_corp=0

Police say two men and a woman were found inside a home on Cartwright Road Tuesday morning after a family member called police to report suspicious circumstances...

Police say there were signs of a violent struggle and foul play is suspected. Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney says he has not seen a bloodier or more violent crime in his 31-year career. "When I say this crime is heinous, that is probably an understatement"...

Deputies arrested 22-year-old Adam Dees of Canyon County Wednesday March 11th around 3:30 at a Best Buy in Boise. He has been charged with six felony counts, including grand theft and forgery, as well as a misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. Police stress that Dees is NOT charged with murder. Additional charges are possible, though.

Deputies also seized a 2003 black Subaru Legacy with a gold panel that Dees was driving...

Raney declined to speculate on a motive or say if anything was missing from the home. He said the victims were related, and the killings occurred sometime between Sunday evening and Tuesday morning... He said police were looking for suspects linked to a Subaru Legacy that was in the area when the killings occurred. He asked that anyone who saw it notify police.

The killings took place in what records say is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home on about 20 acres with a total value of about $800,000. Authorities say the property has horses and other buildings.
The victims are tentatively ID'd; names will be released when confirmed by the coroner.

Neighbor Jon Neviaser said Tuesday that the residents of the home had moved in within the past year, and he hadn't gotten a chance to meet them yet. He had seen construction going on at the property lately. Ada County property records indicate the property's ownership has not changed hands recently.

Thanks for posting this OkieGranny.....this sounds absolutely awful from the little bit I've read so far. I'll be watching to see if they arrest Dees for murder.

I feel terrible for the person that alerted LE to the crime scene......it sounds like it was horrific, made me think of the Groene case that happened very close to where I live.....shudder.

Sounds like maybe LE thinks Dees wasn't the only perp? I dunno, just got that impression. Could be wrong.

    More from the Statesman article:

    http://www.idahostatesman.com/2015/0...ound-dead.html

Asked whether members of the public should be afraid, the sheriff said, “It’s sad for me to say, but yes. Someone, without any provocation that I know of, killed three innocent people"...

On Thursday morning deputies brought a warrant to Dees' home in the 17000 block of North Cody Drive in Nampa. They spoke to two of Dees' roommates and started searching the residence for evidence.

When I read the one post, I also wondered if he has killed before.

    The Statesman article keeps updating.

    http://www.idahostatesman.com/2015/0...dead.html?rh=1

Theodore (Ted) and Delores (Elaine) Welp had just moved back from Tucson, Ariz., to the Boise home with their son Tom - who is mostly deaf and lives with his parents - said Scott Williams of Stanley, who cares for a ranch they own west of the Central Idaho town. Both are from Idaho originally. Despite their wealth, they may not have had money in the house, Williams said. "They lived pretty frugal," Williams said...

Investigators are still trying to find a connection between the three murder victims and Adam Michael Dees, a man currently in custody in connection with the crime, said Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney during a press conference Thursday.

Adam Dees, the man arrested in connection with the triple homicide in the Boise foothills Tuesday, was arraigned Thursday afternoon on charges of grand theft and forgery... Magistrate Judge Theresa Gardunia ordered Dees held on a $2 million bond. He's scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 26.

Dees' attorney, Isaiah L. Govia, argued for a lower bond. Dees has never failed to show up for a court date before, Govia told Gardunia. And although he was placed on suicide watch after his arrest, that's because he's diagnosed bipolar and schizophrenic, not because he's a flight risk...

In addition to the latest Ada County charges, Dees has pending charges for battery and malicious injury to property in Canyon County.

BBM This is very concerning because:

1.) It brings into question how long his criminal record is if he has NEVER failed to show up for a court date before.
2.) He still has a pending court date for other charges so it cannot be established that he is not a flight risk.
3.) Pending charges of battery along with diagnosis of MI suggest he could be a danger to others.

Considering his young age, I'm thinking that he has a long record going back to juvie. Most recent charges are within past year:

Dees is not charged with murder. He faces three counts of grand theft, three counts of forgery and a misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

The 9 mm handgun was found tucked into Dees' waistband, prosecutors said, without disclosing whether it was linked to the killings.

... Police arrested Dees on Wednesday at an electronics store. Prosecutors listed a handful of other sites where they said he used the credit cards, forged the names of the homicide victims, and was later identified by workers.

Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney asked the public for help in determining a possible connection between Dees and the Welps. Authorities were also looking for information on a wedding ring they believe Dees had tried to sell. They didn't know if it was connected to the killings.
