    OH - Alyssa Whitcomb, 22, Toledo, 4 March 2015

HILLSDALE GRADUATE MISSING, LAST SEEN IN TOLEDO A WEEK AGO
LOUDONVILLE – Family isn't waiting for police to find missing loved one Alyssa Whitcomb. They're performing their own search.

An "army of volunteers" will invade the Toledo area where Whitcomb went missing last week to knock on doors, put up pictures and bring her home, her mother, Jessica Long, said. The group will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at 113 N. Second St., Waterville, and travel to Toledo together.

A prayer vigil is also scheduled at 5 p.m. Sunday at Mohicanville Community Church, 343 Ohio 95, Loudonville.

"I just want her home," Long said. "I just want her to know that we love her, and if she can get to a phone, please call someone she knows."The circumstances surrounding the Ashland resident's disappearance are suspicious, according to Long.

Whitcomb disappeared March 4 from the Toledo Volunteers of America, where she had been in a drug rehab program. As part of the program, they help the participants find jobs to pay off their court fees.

The 22-year-old had been on her way to a job interview at Downtown Latte Coffeehouse on St. Clair Street around 2 p.m. that Wednesday, but never showed up, according to information family said they received from Toledo police. Detectives at the station are not releasing information to media.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

If you search for Alyssa Whitcomb, there is a very interesting article out there that may have more detail.

Authorities searching for missing Ashland County woman
Whitcomb was living in Toledo and attending a drug rehabilitation program at Volunteers of America. On March 4, Whitcomb left the VOA with another woman for a job interview at the Downtown Latte Coffeehouse on St. Clair Street. She has a diamond piercing below her lip and a piercing in her chest. She also has 3 tattoos: a Chinese writing on her shoulder purple lilies down her left side and green Chinese writing on her lower back.

Family of missing woman Alyssa Whitcomb from Ashland County praying for safe return
The Ashland County woman has been missing since March 4 when she didn’t show for a job interview.

A Mansfield court mandated that she enter a drug treatment program for her addiction to heroin.

After only being there two weeks, she was allowed to seek a job, which could help her pay her court costs.

Her mother, Jessica Long, said it was a 35-minute walk to the job interview.

Long said the drug treatment program, Volunteers of America, called her on March 4 letting her know that her daughter had not come back to the program. This has the family on alert that something may have happened to her.

“We kind of feel that the human trafficking is bad in Toledo and maybe someone has a hold of her,” Long said.

    Let's see...
Alyssa is 5'3", 150 lbs. 3 tattoos: Chinese writing on her shoulder, purple lilies down her left side, and green Chinese writing on her lower back.
The found body is 200 lbs. and has tattoos of an Asian character on the inside of the right forearm and a flower tattoo on the upper back aged 18-35 years old.
    18 to 35 isn't very specific, but I guess we'll see..

Has Alyssa Whitcomb been found or not
I see that body found in this link is not Alyssa but I see no more thread/posts after the thread was set up for the "body found" that turns out not to be Alyssa Whitcomb.
