Police last Friday renewed their plea for information regarding the disappearance of a Red Deer woman on March 13.
Roze Burk, 68, of Red Deer was last seen at the Deer Park Co-op in Red Deer around 8 p.m. on March 12. She was reported missing the next day, and at press time hadn’t been seen or heard from since.
The Red Deer Advocate reported last week that Burk’s family responded to an early-morning call of a possible sighting in Sylvan Lake earlier this month. A search of the area by family and police, however, turned up unsuccessful.

Sadly, the FB page for Roze is reporting that she was found deceased in Evansburg on Friday morning:

No details yet on COD. Her doggy Jewel was also located and taken to a shelter. Evansburg is about 2.5 hours NE of Red Deer.

Odd that they had to locate her vehicle by plane. Sounds like it might have been in a fairly remote area.

FWIW, this young fellow also disappeared from Red Deer on March 13. No indication that he has been located.

Very sad that this poor missing woman's case got pretty much no interest here. Why some cases get so much and some get none, it always puzzles me, and saddens me. JMO. RIP poor sweet Roze.

    from:

... The air services officers had been working on a separate operation, when they spotted Burk’s vehicle in a remote area, approximately 35 Kms south of Evansburg ...

RCMP believe Burke’s vehicle became stuck and she left the vehicle to seek help. This area where she became stuck is not frequented by travellers. RCMP were able to recover her vehicle as well as her small dog who has been reunited with the Burke family.

An article with more information on Roze:

So odd ... lived 8 km, only a few minutes east of Red Deer but found up near Evansburg which is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Red Deer. I find this unsettling, unless she maybe got confused and lost driving home in the dark, but the person she spoke with in the Co-Op said she seemed okay.
