Officials say a 29-year-old woman and 2-year-old boy were fatally shot early Saturday. A third victim, a man whose age is unknown, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries...

The sheriff’s office released a statement late Saturday identifying the woman who was killed as Heather Kelso of Bremerton. Kelso was an employee of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and had lived in the mobile home park for three years, the sheriff said.

The boy was identified as Kaden Lum, also of Bremerton. He and his mother had lived with Kelso for three weeks.

Sgt. Ken Dickinson with the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office said officers "sent a K9 through the mobile home park. We've done an extensive track, which came up with no suspect."

Investigators say they have evidence suggesting the killing was not random, but they will not discuss what they found... They do not believe the boy or his mom knew the woman who lived there, Heather Kelso, before they became roommates.

The Sheriff's Office said Kaden's mother... told detectives she does not know who the shooter was.

BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — A 29-year-old woman and a 2-year-old boy were fatally shot early Saturday, and a third shooting victim was suffering from life-threatening injuries, sheriff's deputies in Washington state said.

Investigators used a police dog to search the Bremerton mobile home park where the shooting took place, but the dog did not pick up the suspect's scent.

"We feel confident the suspect is no longer in the mobile home park," Kitsap County Sheriff's Lt. Detective Earl Smith said.

The Kitsap Sun reports (http://bit.ly/1BFXjUs) that the boy's mother was trying to shield him when he was shot, but the mother was not hurt. The woman who was killed was a roommate.

Officials say they received reports of gunshots heard at the Kariotis Mobile Home Park just after 2 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found the woman dead and the 2-year-old critically injured. The toddler was taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, but he later died.

The third victim, a man whose age is unknown, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries. The man was shot in the lower abdomen and underwent surgery, Smith said.

A Kitsap County woman who survived a double homicide says she jumped on top of her two-year old son to try to save him from a hail of bullets. "All I knew was to grab the baby and hide him underneath me. And we dove to the floor," said Jalisa Lum on Monday. "I just wish that I was able to protect him better. He's the light of my life"...

Lum said she went to sleep around midnight after caring for Kaden, who had been sick on Friday. "I'm woken up out of a dead sleep. I heard gunshots everywhere," Lum said Monday, fighting back tears. "I felt blood on my face but I thought it was something of mine because I thought he was protected enough"...

Meantime, public records released Monday show that Kelso, who was murdered, had been granted a one-year order of protection against the father of her 4-month old daughter on March 5th. Detectives would not say if they have interviewed him in relationship to the double homicide.

Where is the baby girl? Where we she when this happened?

Rumor has it the little girl was sick and staying at someone else's home. So many questions. Was the 2 year old intentionally killed someone thinking he was the 4 month old? And Kelso's boyfriend had guns.

Also, why was neighbor there at 2:30 in the morning...were they sleeping? Police said they think it's not random.

A home was searched and a vehicle impounded in Port Orchard on Monday evening by detectives investigating last weekend’s double homicide in East Bremerton, according to authorities.

Sgt. Ken Dickinson of the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said a warrant for the search of the home was obtained Monday and a warrant to search the car obtained Tuesday. He would not identify the location where the warrants were served, saying they had been filed under seal...

When reached by phone Tuesday, the former boyfriend, 30, declined to say whether his home or car had been searched. He said his lawyer had advised him not to talk about the case.

Detectives have interviewed a 22-year-old man who survived a weekend shooting that left a woman and her roommate's toddler dead at a Washington mobile home park, a sheriff's officer said Monday. The man, described as a neighbor of the victims, is recovering at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle...

Dickinson said the wounded neighbor provided no additional information on a suspect. The woman whose toddler was killed told officers she didn't know the shooter, The Kitsap Sun reported. She was unhurt.

Kitsap Central Communications released 911 recordings from neighbors and a survivor of Saturday’s shooting at the Kariotis Mobile Home Park in East Bremerton, who describe a confused, frightening scene.

“I woke up and somebody was screaming,” Jalisa Lum, who was in the mobile home when the shooting occurred, told a dispatcher. “Then somebody came and jumped out the window.” Lum told the dispatcher she was hiding with her 2-year-old son, Kaden, and that without her contacts she could not see. “I have a baby, please come,” Lum said...

A 22-year-old man was in the mobile home at the time but fled during the shooting... “He’s about to go unconscious, he’s lying face down on the ground,” a friend of the wounded man told dispatchers, saying the man had been at a neighbor’s but came pounding on his door for help. The man’s wife was putting pressure on the wound. “Honestly, it looks like he got beat up,” the man told the dispatcher. “There’s a big gash on his forehead.”

From an earlier article.

Meantime, public records released Monday show that Kelso, who was murdered, had been granted a one-year order of protection against the father of her 4-month old daughter on March 5th. Detectives would not say if they have interviewed him in relationship to the double homicide.

"There have been so many incidences. I am fearful for my safety and my daughter's. I have to finally do something before anything more happens." Kelso wrote in filing for the protection order. "He is very emotionally abusive and makes me fearful for my safety and our child's safety because of his temper."

"I don't feel safe with him having guns," she added. "He is going to be very angry at me for getting this order."

Looks like we've got 4 different people in the home at the time of the incident, excluding the perp, and all but one live there. And the one who doesn't live there does live close by. It seems that we also have 3 different angles from which this incident could have originated. Which one of those 4 people are connected to the shooter? SMH. This is already very interesting. And our info will probably cease being available fairly soon until an arrest, IMO -- that's how it usually goes, anyway. And we'll prolly continue to get nothing after the arrest. So we need to sleuth this thing now. Hmmmm.

I just did a search for Heather Kelso, and the car/home search was the most recent article. I guess LE has already clammed up. I'm thinking they're getting their ducks in a row for a possible interview with the ex-bf. This is a really screwy-sounding thing. And little Kaden is gone and his mother is hurting, hurting. And Kelso's daughter no longer has her mother, and she's way too young to be told why. What a bad, bad night that was.

A motherless child and a childless mother. Breaks my heart.

I am ready, willing, and able to sentence the one guy purely on the allegations he wanted to use a belt on a four month old. IMO, I do not believe that kind of temper, low impulse control, and bad judgment can be fixed.
