LA Times:

Andrew Getty, an heir to the Getty oil fortune, was found dead at his Hollywood Hills home Tuesday. Los Angeles police are investigating.

The cause of death was undetermined at this time, LAPD Sgt. Kyle Kirkman said.

Police were called to the home, located at the end of a narrow, leafy street, at 2:18 p.m., said Cmdr. Andrew Smith.

A woman who was present at the time of the death was escorted from the residence by police for questioning, Smith said. She is cooperating with investigators, Smith said.

"Just two weeks ago, Getty had sought a restraining order against a woman, according to court records."

So sad to lose your life so young (he was only a few years older than me). I hope LE is able to solve this crime. Scary....

LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith, a department spokesman, cautioned it was still “very, very early in the investigation” but said that based on initial observations, “this does not appear immediately to be a criminal act.”

Coroner’s and investigators remained on scene late Tuesday, waiting for a search warrant that would allow detectives to enter the home and look for any evidence.

If both articles are accurate, I sure as hades want to know what it was all about. :shame:

From the description of the injuries it sounds like the death could be the result of a sexual misadventure (without getting too graphic).

What a hot mess. The ex-GF who called 911 was served a restraining order 2 weeks ago by him. LE had been called to the home a whopping 31 times in the past related to domestic issues. Paramedics reportedly found him to have sustained traumatic injury to the rectal area and subsequent significant bleeding to the area, he'd reportedly been feeling unwell for some time and apparently had an appt to see doctor tomorrow. No idea what to make of any of this:
