The Seguin Police are conducting a search scene after they were made aware of a suspicious location.

The scene is near Siedemann and Sunset roads near railroad tracks in Seguin. After finding a suspicious area, they called in search teams. Police did not confirm that a body was found and will release a statement shortly...

A woman has been missing since March 30 and was last seen in the 700 block of Braden Street in Seguin. Police have not confirmed if this scene is connected to her disappearance.

Police investigators said she and Michael Lewis Arce, 30, were involved in an argument. Both left that location before police arrived. Later that day, Cases' father called police and reported that his daughter was missing and that it was unusual for her not to contact him.

Her body was found "In an area around the brush line, next to the railroad tracks, a disturbed area was located, a mound," said police. "But it was different from the surrounding ground."

Arce was found later and arrested on a charge of assault on a family member, but they are now questioning him in connection with Cases' death.

Man gets life in 2015 capital murder case

Michael Lewis Arce, 32, went before 25th Judicial District Judge William D. Old III, who gave him the life sentence without parole for the murder of 30-year-old Vivian Cases around 9 p.m. on Monday at the Guadalupe County Justice Center.

“We’re very pleased with the verdict. I believed the victim’s family was pleased with the verdict and it came after a long trial and a lot of expertise and collaboration between the Seguin Police Department and our office,” Guadalupe County Assistant Attorney Jennifer Smith said.

Smith said it took the jury about four hours to render the verdict on Monday.
