A woman that no one knew was pregnant gave birth in the bathroom at work, put the baby in her bag under her desk in her cubicle, and was going to continue work. Employees found blood all over the bathroom stall, which eventually led to finding the dead baby in a bag under the woman's desk. Police are trying to determine if the baby was born alive or not.

I don't understand people......I just don't. :(

This story makes me sad. There was help available if only this woman would have asked for it or just dropped the baby off at a safe haven. :(

I don't understand how a woman could work up to the moment of birth, give birth in the bathroom, put the baby in a bag, and go back to work. In all 6 of my deliveries, I was in labor for some time and the delivery alone took more than just a few minutes. Plus the placenta is delivered a little while after the baby. It seems like the woman would leave a trail of blood back to her desk. A woman usually bleeds for some time after a baby is born. And why would she do this? Was she afraid for someone to find out she was pregnant? Did she need her paycheck that bad? She must have known she was pregnant. Was she mentally ill? Was the baby full-term? How could this woman concentrate on her job? I just don't understand this.

I bet it was shock, denial and physical shock from blood loss. Who gives birth in the bathroom, leaves it a bloody mess and goes back to her desk? Wasnt there a case of someone who gave birth in a bar, left the baby in the toilet and went back to party at the bar?

Maybe it is drugs...IDK.

Woman accused of storing newborn in bag pleads guilty

Holly Fournier, The Detroit News 10:26 a.m. EDT October 7, 2015

Redford Township — A Wyandotte woman accused of placing her newborn son in a plastic bag in her office desk earlier this year pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree murder, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

Kimberly Pappas, 26, initially was charged with felony murder, premeditated murder and first-degree child abuse in the March 31 death of her baby boy, born into a toilet at her Redford Township workplace.

The plea agreement calls for nine to 20 years in prison, said Maria Miller, spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office. Pappas will be sentenced Oct. 26...

"The full-term, 8.3-pound baby was born alive, ...[per ME]...19 inches long. The cause of death was asphyxiation."The woman previously denied her pregnancy, according to sister and co-worker, Cassandra Pappas. She never purchased baby items for the family’s home and did not discuss her options, such as abortion or adoption."

In light of 26 y/o bio-mother's ^ denials, somewhat surprising imo she "pleaded guilty...to second-degree murder."
"Defense attorneys in August called the matter “a complicated case” and argued for an involuntary manslaughter charge in the death, highlighting testimony that Pappas appeared pale and in shock directly following the birth.
There was no intent to harm or kill the newborn, they said." bbm sbm
