TX - Jody Cook Wood, 38, Glen Rose, 28 March 2015

Jody Cook Wood - Jody's Facebook Page

MISSING: JODY COOK-WOOD, was last seen in Glen Rose, TX where she participated in a job training. Jody lives in Ardmore, OK. She may be driving a 1999 Silver Firebird with tag # 855GSI. She was reportedly last seen March 28 at Tres Rios campground in Glen Rose.

Jody is 5'7" tall, 140 lbs, with blue eyes and light brown hair. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Jody Cook- Wood, please contact the Ardmore Police Department at (580) 223-1212.

Monday morning, Somervell County Sheriff Greg Doyle said his office finally received information on the missing woman on April 3. His office told the family to contact their local police department since they hadn't done so - and due to the fact the missing woman was driving her father's motor vehicle out of the Ardmore area.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

It sounds like she may be found soon. Apparently the family didn't notify LE until Apr 3 and now that it's the regular work week after Easter it seems wheels will be put in motion to find her. There isn't much information out there but it sounds like she may be taking a break.

I hope she's just taking a break and clearing her head. I read she didn't complete her new job training in TX. I'm praying she didn't harm herself in any way . There's been way too many cases on here lately that end this way.

Oklahoma Family Searching for Missing Woman in Glen Rose
The Somervell County Sheriff's Department is searching for an Oklahoma woman reportedly missing in Texas. According to her family in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the last known location for 38-year-old Jody Cook Wood was in Glen Rose where she was training for a new job at the Tres Rios timeshare campground. Wood's family said she was fired from the job on March 28 for drinking and they haven't been able to locate her since.

Somervell County Deputy Chief Brian Peterson told NBC 5 that they are following up on what few leads they have, but that they haven't led them to the missing woman.

UPDATE: Investigator, family member comment on case of missing woman
According to Heather, her sister had been recovering while living with their father in Ardmore. Last week, Heather called their father to check on Jody. He said she took the new job and went to Glen Rose for training, which was reportedly held at Tres Rios.

Jody’s new job was with Texoma Shores. According to the Tres Rios website, tresriosrvpark.com, both RV resorts are owned and operated by Ocean Canyon Properties.

Chief Deputy Peterson said the sheriff’s office has confirmed Jody was at the first day of training and left the campground alone and “of her own free will” on the final day.
She was driving a silver Pontiac Firebird, owned by her father, with Oklahoma license plate number 855GSI, according to Heather.

Heather said as soon as she “clued into” the fact that her sister was missing, she began circulating Jody’s photo on Facebook. But Heather said she otherwise feels like nobody is taking the missing person concerns seriously “due to Jody’s background.”

BREAKING NEWS: Police get break in missing woman case
Peterson said the sheriff’s office received the lead early Monday morning, and the chief deputy, along with Don Stoner, a Texas Ranger, “went to Mansfield and drove to a certain area and located the vehicle in the parking lot of a business."

“We did find the car and there was nothing unusual about the car,” Peterson said. “We talked to area witnesses, and the car had been there since last Tuesday or Wednesday and had not been moved.”

Peterson stated he called the Mansfield Police Department and the two law enforcement agencies took possession of the vehicle.

“They have it impounded,” Peterson said. “We are still working a lot of leads looking for her whereabouts.”

This is local to me. I wish I knew exactly where the car was parked in Mansfield. Mansfield is about an hour to an hour-and-a-half from Glen Rose. If the car was parked near any of the many wooded areas in and around Mansfield, she could've parked and walked into the woods. Joe Pool Lake is also very close by.

Missing Mom's Sister: 'She Didn't Just Vanish'
    David Lohr
    david.lohr@huffingtonpost.com
The sister of a missing mother from Ardmore, Oklahoma, is appealing to the public for help.

Jody Cook Wood, 38, has not been seen for nearly three weeks.

"Our whole family is worried about her," an emotional Heather Cook told The Huffington Post. "Someone knows something. She didn’t just vanish."

Wood was last seen at the Tres Rios timeshare campground in Glen Rose, Texas, on March 27. According to Cook, her sister was at the facility for a three-day job training orientation.

"We did interviews with the workers, and they all said she stayed in a cabin ... by herself," Brian Peterson, a chief deputy with the Somervell County Sheriff's Office, told The Glen Rose Reporter on Monday.

Peterson, who did not return a call for comment from HuffPost on Tuesday, told the newspaper Wood left on the third day of training.

"Her leaving was witnessed by several employees and they said she was going to Fort Worth to meet a friend," Peterson said.

What happened to Wood after she left the campground remains unclear.

The biggest break in the search came on Monday, when authorities found the 1999 silver Firebird she was driving parked in Mansfield, Texas, which is located about 50 miles north east of Glen Rose.

The vehicle was reportedly undamaged and area residents said it had been parked there since the middle of last week, authorities said. It is unknown what, if anything, was found inside the vehicle.

Cook told HuffPost it is out of character for her sister to be out of contact with her family. She suffers from Crohn's disease and is the mother of an 11-year-old daughter.

"She was not involved in a relationship, but there is an ex-boyfriend who is overly obsessed with her," Cook said, "but we don't know that he is connected in any way."

Authorities have not indicated whether they suspect foul play and have not named any suspects or persons of interest in the case.

Bumping for Jody. I haven't posted in this thread on WS but have been following this closely. I really hope Jody is okay!

I also want to hear more about what was found in her vehicle for her sisters to say that "a few leads" were found there. I hope that where my head is going with this, isn't the case.
