Canada - Hamilton, Ont. Possible serial arsonists targeting Hamilton area.

"WELLAND, Ont. — Police are considering the possibility that a serial arsonist is responsible for torching barns and other buildings in West Lincoln and rural east Hamilton.

"Based on location and similarity in the targets being selected, investigators are considering all those facts and evidence and again not ruling out the possibility," Const. Stephen Welton, a spokesman for the Hamilton Police Service, said."

"The latest fires occurred in the following areas:

1. Tapleytown Rd north of Mud, April 5 at 9:45PM
2. South Chippewa Rd near Caister Centre Rd, April 5 at 11:05PM
3. South Chippewa Rd near Caisterville Rd, April 5 at 11:16PM
4. Trimble Rd near Hall Rd, April 6 at 12:00AM

Police say, in 2013, a witness observed a vehicle similar to an older white Ford Escape with black bumpers in the area of Westbrook Road at 16th Road.

A witness saw a small black pickup truck, similar to a Ford or GMC, in the same area at 12:30am on March 15.

Police say the recent fires are targeting vacant structures/vehicles close to the roadway and are being treated as related to one another.

Investigators are asking area residents to report any suspicious vehicles or activity to police right away."

Hope they find the arsonist.

We've had that happening in one particular neighborhood in San Diego - City Heights, and almost all within a 5 block radius - with well over a dozen in March alone, most nights when it happened, there were 3-5 separate fires.

We've had a string in other nearby neighborhoods, but this guy was really on quite a spree doing it in such a small radius in particular those few weeks. I hope they find him tied to the others so there aren't multiple crazy arsonists out there.

And I hope Ontario's arsonist is also caught! I know from listening to the scanner here how hard they'd been working in San Diego on these every time another call came in, and I hope the same is being done in Hamilton!
