Chef Bobby Flay files for divorce

As her attorney Deborah Lans put it in a statement to E! News: "Stephanie is terribly upset by what she has been reading in the paper."

What's she's reading, of course, are speculative rumors, comments fom Team Flay, and a constant back-and-forth about what caused their split. Page Six claimed the celebrity chef had been having an affair with his 28-year-old assistant, Elise Tirrell — which is up for debate — but Flay's rep told E! that his team "will continue to refrain from responding to the continued efforts by certain parties to spread rumors and innuendo ... his specific allegation was in a letter sent from one attorney in this case to the other. It was written and then leaked specifically to try to insert this story into the press, and that's unfortunate."

Flay's rep then brought something else to light: the drama was actually revolving around a decade-old prenup. "Even more unfortunate is that all of this is being done in order to renegotiate a pre-nuptial agreement that was agreed to over a decade ago and never amended during the marriage," the rep said.
