A man’s body was found Tuesday afternoon at the Texas Disposal Systems recycling center in Creedmoor, Texas, in Southeast Travis County. The body was brought in with a truckload of recyclables and dumped into a common pile with several other loads of materials. A worker found the body about 3 p.m. as it was put onto a conveyor belt.

Poor man! Let us hope that if someone directly caused his death, that the justice system works for him.

The story now says that it was homicide. I was wondering if he could have been in/near a dumpster and either died or got carried away with the trash. But they're treating it like a murder.

The death of a man found on a recycling center conveyor belt on Tuesday has been ruled a homicide, according to the Travis County sheriff’s office.

The agency has also identified the man, who it said was homeless and frequented downtown Austin, as Clarence Gerald Gardner Jr., 49.

The sheriff’s office has refused to reveal information about how Gardner died.

Leigh Bohart, 52, also faces a charge of tampering with physical evidence in the death of Clarence Gerald Gardner Jr., 49...

An autopsy showed that Gardner had several skull fractures and numerous cuts to his face and neck. A medical examiner determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma, an arrest affidavit said. Investigators also found several bloody items at the recycling center, including a large piece of limestone...

Gardner’s friend, Jeffery Fitzgerald, also told police Bohart was “crazy” and would often antagonize and get into arguments with Gardner, the affidavit said. Several other homeless people interviewed said they avoided Bohart because she was known to attack people and try to steal from them, the affidavit said.
