Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

This is worrisome...though it's a long drive, you could go from Ishpeming to Kalamzoo in 11 to 12 hours depending on road conditions and traffic (see link to map). The Upper Peninsula of Michigan (we call it "the U-P") from Ishpeming to Mackinac County is lots of wilderness and State Park land. To be missing for nearly a week is concerning. I wish we knew more. Lots of questions such as were they familiar with the area? Do they gamble? There are quite a few Indian Reservation Casino's up there they might pull them away from the most direct route. Did they have a cell phone? I hope to hear they are found safe and sound very soon!

This article has a few more details, including a photo of a vehicle like theirs. Also mentions that they were wearing the clothes shown in the photo when last seen.

The women are said to be traveling in a white 2010 Ford Explorer with a Nebraska license plate number of either “TVC 973″ or “TTM 081.”

Roy is described as a white female about 5’3″ tall and 125 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Wright is described as a white female about 5’1″ tall and 135 pounds with dark brown hair and blue eyes.

I think this is the first article that mentions that Lee and Leslie are sisters.

    From article linked directly above...

Michigan State police have asked area residents to help find the women and said they received a report of a sighting on April 11 at a store near Tahquamenon State Park, a 50,000-acre wilderness, much of it without roads, buildings or power lines.

As someone who has lived in the UP, it could be very easy for someone to get turned around or lost on sideroads. You can go long stretches of time without seeing gas stations or even people.

The family has a Facebook page set up --- I don't know if it's against the rules to post a link -- but it has some more information from the family.

They don't agree with the "voluntary missing" label. They have had no contact since April 10th (as noted), their cards have shown no activity since that date. They had been calling the women and apparently now both the phones go directly to voicemail. I'm starting to think this is more than just "Oh, they missed their reservation in Mackinaw and decided to head straight to Kalamazoo". I hope I'm wrong, though.

You're certainly more than welcome to post the link to the Facebook page. It actually helps! I'm looking for it myself, but I can't seem to find it. Their names aren't exactly unique.

I think they had car trouble and are in an area that does not have cell phone reception, or worse an accident.

    I hope they are ok.
