A man convicted in the murder of a Lincoln police officer 34 years ago says he does not want to be paroled.
"I do not want out of prison," James Lorin Porter, Sr., wrote in a letter he sent to Placer County officials, Lincoln police, prison officials and newspapers.
Others agree.
"Our position is that Mr. Porter should not be granted parole," said Placer County Deputy District Attorney Cliff Gessner. "He still poses a danger to society."
