    Deaths of adult and child found near Merthyr Tydfil 'unexplained'

    Detectives are investigating the "unexplained" deaths of an adult and child who have been found at a house in the south Wales valleys.

    It is believed that the bodies discovered in the village of Troedyrhiw, near Merthyr Tydfil, may be that of a young mother and her daughter.

    The bodies, neither of which has been formally identified, were found in a house in Church Street at 4.20pm on Wednesday.

    investigations team, said: "Troedyrhiw is a close-knit community in Merthyr Tydfil and local people are obviously shocked.

    Sounds like a very close-knit community, so hopefully police will get a lot of information coming in.

    We 'embraced' the missing Bob Harrod case as requested but 6 years on, are still waiting for further guidance

    Good heavens, this sounds like a very small town but there was a very similar case in 2013.

    Same case! Guardian had no time stamp when I first posted it and featured the case on their front page, for some reason.

    'Open verdict' was the eventual decision.
