UK Wales Deaths of woman, child near Merthyr Tydfil 'unexplained'

Detectives are investigating the "unexplained" deaths of an adult and child who have been found at a house in the south Wales valleys.

It is believed that the bodies discovered in the village of Troedyrhiw, near Merthyr Tydfil, may be that of a young mother and her daughter.

The bodies, neither of which has been formally identified, were found in a house in Church Street at 4.20pm on Wednesday.

Detective Superintendent Paul Hurley, of the South Wales police specialist crime
investigations team, said: "Troedyrhiw is a close-knit community in Merthyr Tydfil and local people are obviously shocked.
