"Police are not saying why they are focusing on these particular locations, but say they have spoken with dozens of people from across the province and remained in regular contact with Julia’s family overseas.

They say Strobach’s case is considered a priority investigation.

Strobach leaves behind a three-year-old son.

Anyone with information on Strobach’s disappearance is asked to call the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)."

"Fifty RCMP officers are searching two Vancouver Island locations Tuesday in connection with the disappearance of Julia Strobach who vanished on Halloween in 2013.

Investigators are conducting "meticulous" ground searches at two Comox Valley green spaces as a "result of information gathered through the ongoing investigation into Julia’s disappearance," said an RCMP news release."

"Despite the best efforts of our investigators over the past seventeen months, we have been unable to bring them solid information. We are appealing to anyone with information about Julia's movements and activities in the days and weeks leading up to Oct. 31, 2013, to get in touch with us immediately."

Strobach is white, 5-foot-9, 126 lbs., with dyed red hair and green eyes."

Well this isn't good news, but if they find her, hopefully it'll give the family and her little son some closure :(

Bumping for Julia, can't find any news relating to the searches from April. :-(

I'm just now learning of this case and she's been missing 1.5 years?

"RCMP confirmed the last known sighting of Strobach was in the 1000-block of Braidwood Road in Courtenay early on the evening of Oct. 31, 2013.

She moved to the Island from Germany in 2009.

It’s out of character for Strobach to be out of touch for so long, said Const. Jonathan Grabb, who is investigating the file. Her son has been staying with relatives.

There’s no evidence of foul play and there’s nothing to indicate Strobach was suffering from a mental-health crisis and might have taken her own life, Grabb said.

Investigators have spoken with several people to piece together clues about her disappearance.

However, Mounties believe there are more friends and associates with information about Strobach’s movements in the time leading up to her disappearance who have not yet talked to police.

Some of these potential witnesses now reside in the Central Interior and Okanagan areas, and RCMP in those jurisdictions are working to locate them.

Grabb said any piece of information, however small, might be important to the case"

See about 4 pics of her.

Oh, I would immediately think of self-harm.

Myth: People who self-injure want to die.
Fact: Self-injurers usually do not want to die. When they self-harm, they are not trying to kill themselves—they are trying to cope with their pain. In fact, self-injury may be a way of helping themselves go on living. However, in the long-term, people who self-injure have a much higher risk of suicide, which is why it’s so important to seek help.

Despite all investigative efforts, and multiple public appeals through the news media and social media, few answers have surfaced.

In a release, RCMP Inspector Tim Walton said, “Julia’s family, her friends, and particularly her three year old son, deserve answers about what has happened to Julia.”

RCMP are appealing to anyone with information about Julia’s movements and activities in the days and weeks leading up to October 31st, 2013, to get in touch with us immediately.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321, or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Mother of missing Comox Valley woman pleads for information on disappearance of her daughter, Julia Strobach

For now, the closest connection Annette has with her daughter, is the 4-year-old son she left behind.

“He is well, he is well,” she said. The son lives with his father in Canada.

“We don’t know where she is, we don’t know why she disappeared, so those questions remain unanswered. Those are the primary questions we are working on answering right now,” said Cpl. Darren Lagan, Island District RCMP.

At this point, it’s still a missing persons case, not a criminal one.

And Annette Strobach keeps hope her daughter is still alive.

“Please let me know Julia is alive,” pleaded her mother.

I wonder whether the father of Julia's son has been cleared thoroughly by police .....
He would have had a motive: no alimony, no unannounced irregular visits of his son (Julia used to disappear sometimes for a while). Now he has the child and no interruption of his routine.

Can't reply with quote, dotr.

As decent as possible ..... :D (in answer to you)

Please do not sleuth family members and post information or pictures about them unless it is info gleaned from MSM.
