DETROIT -
A second ice cream company is recalling all of its frozen treats because of listeria concerns and this one is sold in metro Detroit.

Stores are pulling Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream off shelves after health officials found listeria in a sample discovered by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture.

The recall hits close to home and stores like Whole Foods, Kroger and mom-and-pop retails stores are taking action...

I love Jeni's. Their coffee ice cream is my absolute favorite ice cream.

Here is the link for updates directly from Jeni's. Sounds like they're doing everything they need to do to get this taken care of.

I grew up in Ohio and I love Jeni's. Salted caramel for life! They are really handling this well, though. Taking no risks.

Blue Bell Creameries of Texas and Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams of Ohio — extremely popular brands in their home states — took all their products off shelves this week. Blue Bell ice cream is linked to 10 illnesses in four states, including three deaths. There are no known illnesses linked to the Jeni's recall, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The recalls are unusual: Listeria is rarely found in ice cream because it can't grow at freezing temperatures.
