Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

This is close to home for me. I hope she is OK. I can't believe they haven't posted flyers at my work.

I cannot believe after all of the VA scandals the past few years that a military member still cannot receive timely healthcare!! She is at incredible risk.

I am local to this as well as affiliated with this school. I can't find any updates about her. Maybe someone else has better search skills? There is also this, which is kind of worrisome...http://www.kionrightnow.com/news/loc...ville/32583598.

It says though, in that article, that they could not identify the person's race. I don't know very much about decomposition but would it happen to that degree in that period of time?

This is a sad story (both, actually). I hope the missing woman is found safe.

I hope that she's safe also. Depending on the temperature it only takes a few days of decomp before the skin changes enough to make race ID impossible.

Other than this one article and the KSBW facebook page, I have been unable to locate any other coverage or updates.

“She did not take anything with her, no money, just a bottle of water and I guess after that she drank from streams,” Jeffrey Thomas said.

Wow, good news but only the beginning of what will likely be a very long journey to health and healing for this young woman.
