    FL - Susan Boxx, 78, Jacksonville, 29 April 2015

Authorities search for abducted Jacksonville woman
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is working a reported abduction on the Westside of town.

Police say they believe 78-year-old Susan Lockwood Boxx was abducted on the 7000 block of Sonora Drive overnight.

The victim's vehicle is also missing. It is described as a 1998 blue or silver Toyota Corolla with Florida tag 0714HI.

Police were dispatched to Sonora Drive around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The victim's adult son came over to her house after the alarm company called him and she did not answer his calls. Boxx lives alone. Police say her son is terrified and wants to know what happened to his mom.

Police say the front door of her home was kicked in. Neighbors say they did not see or hear anything.

Police say foul play is suspected in this case but have no idea why she was targeted. They are looking at other burglaries that have happened in the area.

Police say they are looking at her financial information and her credit card information is showing up in southern and central Georgia. Financial records lead us up I-95 into Georgia and all the way south to Atlanta. They will continue to follow her financial trail.

She has heart arrhythmia and some medicine she needs.

According to JSO, foul play is suspected in this case and they are working to isolate further information in the case.
At 4:45am police said they hope it isn't as sinister as it seems. Police say financial information has led the investigation into Georgia.
BBM---This is why they are calling it an abduction. The perps are apparently on a spending spree as they head down the highway. Whether or not she is still with them is left to be seen. Her car hasn't been located either.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Sonora Drive Wednesday night where Susan Boxx’s son found the front door kicked in and Boxx’s purse missing. He came to the house to check on Boxx because her security system was going off.

Officers believe Boxx was taken from the home around 10:30 p.m.
JSO said her credit cards were used along Interstate 95 north and into Georgia, just south of Atlanta.

10:30 pm seems a bit early for no one to hear anything, especially if her door was kicked in..????

What a terrifying story. Why kidnap her if they only wanted money? Why use cfedit cards that can be tracked?

I pray she is somewhere safe.

Who would ever abduct a 78 year old woman? This is awful. Poor young lady.

I hope she staged it and is on the adventure of her life right now, because the alternative is too horrible to consider. Hoping she comes home safe.

I'm so confused .... she kicked her own door down? She drove and used credit cards while driving into Georgia but didn't think to stop and get gas?

    Glad she is okay!

She got lost while going to the store in the morning.....ended up in Georgia. While she was gone, someone robbed her house. It sounds like she is very confused and got lost. Bless her heart....so happy she is ok.

It's almost a blessing that she did get "lost", otherwise, she could have been hurt during the break-in.

    What a strange story!
