CCSO: Missing persons case could be suspicious
The Chaves County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what could be a missing persons case with suspicious circumstances. The missing persons are identified as Raquel Rodriguez, 54, and Abraham Jimenez, 74.

The two live on West Chickasaw Road, near the Roswell Correction Center, southwest of Roswell. CCSO investigation have determined the two were last seen on or about April 19. A van they were known to be using was discovered abandoned within the last week on East Chickasaw Road. The vehicle was drivable and did not appear to have broken down in that location.

While there is no evidence of foul play, there are several things that lead the CCSO to be very concerned for the welfare of this couple. Beside the concerns with their abandoned vehicle, Rodriguez and Jimenez own a number of animals that were left unattended on their property without any person being asked to care for them. At this time, CCSO believes all other vehicles they normally use have been accounted for. Authorities have searched their property and several other locations without discovering any clues as to their whereabouts.

Strange..... hope they're safe but the animals left unattended and abandoned car doesn't sound good...

This doesn't sound good. And the car being in a ditch against a fence and still being drivable, makes me wonder. I wouldn't think they would leave their animals to fend for themselves. I hope nothing bad has happened to them.

The last-known person to have contact with Rodriguez was her son on April 19 in their home. He reported her missing a week later.

Rodriguez and Jimenez live in the country outside of Roswell, but her van was found abandoned a mile from their home. Deputies say when they found the couples van it wasn’t broken down.

Rodriguez’s son says he last saw his mom at his home in Roswell.

is that a reporting mistake, which home was the mom last seen at?

Details of Disappearance
Jimenez was last seen with his live-in girlfriend, Raquel Rodriguez, in Roswell, New Mexico on April 19, 2015. They left their dogs behind at home without food or water, which is uncharacteristic of their behavior, and neither of them have ever been heard from again.

After their disappearance, the couple's van was found abandoned and in working condition on the street about a mile from their residence. Although there is no hard evidence of foul play, authorities consider their disappearances suspicious and are concerned for their welfare.

Rodriguez's son stated his mother and Jimenez had no enemies and he can't think of anyone who would want to hurt them, but he believes they were abducted from their home because it's uncharacteristic of them to leave without warning. Their cases remain unsolved.
