Five-year-old Inga Gehricke hasn't been seen since Saturday night around 7.40pm when she apparently wandered away from a party her family were attending at a condominium, and into a forest. Police say she 'most likely' went into the forest with other children, to light a campfire.

Inga and her family member/members were visiting the area from Schönebeck near Magdeburg, where she lives. The condominium is a supervised center for those with substance addiction issues and mental health problems. 550 police and K9s have been searching 3,500 hectares of forest for Inga since Saturday, but no trace has been found. The weather has been mild but wolves do inhabit the forest, which isin a fairly remote and sparsely populated region.

Inga is 1.20m (3ft 11") tall and was wearing a butterfly T-shirt and jeans. She has blonde hair and blue eyes.

A bit more info here, that makes more sense. it's in German so I'll summarize.

The parents/family were visiting a disabled person at the center. The children had been sent out to collect kindling for a campfire. A hair scrunchie has been found but it definitely was not the one Inga was wearing. Media says that quick discovery proves Inga's family are still at the scene.

Because bad weather :( (I am guessing heavy rain) hampered the search yesterday, over 100 extra police vehicles have been drafted in today. Helicopters are also being used, and residents and caregivers of the Wilhemshof center are now being questioned.

I would be very surprised if a wolf got her. Could happen, but I doubt that is the case.

I hope she is found soon.

I agree. Adult wolves are so shy. The only thing that worries me is cubs. There were two last year that stalked a soldier on night patrol for fun. I have no idea if it's the breeding season now though.

The rain will be a blessing if little Inga's been lost in the forest since Saturday night, without food or water. A puddle could mean the difference between life and death.

Oh no. What a cutie :(

Thankyou for translating zwiebel, much appreciated.

Come on sweetie, hang on, they are looking for you.

Police had a sound truck driving up and down the forest roads Monday, calling out to little Inga. Despite intensive searches, they haven't found a trace of her in the forest. They also questioned 100 people.

It's lunchtime Tuesday in Germany now and the situation will be extremely ominous if she's not found today.

Police are appealing for tips and have released the additional info that Inga has a large gap between her front teeth.

I'll try and track down the police tip number as the article doesn't have it.

Anyone with a tip is asked to call Stendal Police at 03931/685291

In an ever-expanding search, no trace of Inga has been found:

K9s - found no scent in either forest or building grounds
Helicopters with thermal imaging - nothing
Searches of private rooms at the center - no evidence at all

The Executive of the center said a barbecue there was nothing special. It has 24 people with drug addiction and 60 people with disabilities spread across five homes, cared for by 30 employees - some of whom live there with their families.

Inga's family never intended to stay the night - police say they were going to drive the 100km (about 60 miles) home after the barbecue.

The nearby Uchtspringe hospital's prison wing houses numerous sex offenders, and has had previous scandals involving inmates money laundering and sharing child *advertiser censored* from there.

Police refused to answer the reporter's question of whether they believe Inga is still alive.

Any updates, Zwiebel? This must be front page news over there.

Oh no, thanks for all the info and translations zwiebs. Time must be running out now, this will be the 4th night I think? :(

Don't like the fact there is a unit housing sex offenders just 2 miles away :notgood:

Just had a quick look on twitter, I don't think there is any new news, but tbh the only tweets I really understand I believe are zwiebels :p
