TX - Puneet Nehra, 43, Fort Bend County, 3 May 2015

    No good deed....huh?

GOOD SAMARITAN MISSING AFTER BEING STRUCK ON SIDE OF ROAD
A good Samaritan who stopped to help a driver on the side of the road was struck by another vehicle, and hasn't been seen since. Now deputies are trying to find him.

At about 9pm Sunday, authorities say Puneet Nehra, 43, of Sugar Land, stopped to assist with a crash on the Grand Parkway northbound on the Brazos River bridge. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office says while assisting with that crash, Nehra was struck by an intoxicated driver. They believe he was knocked off the bridge and into the river. He hasn't been located.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Good Samaritan knocked into Brazos River by drunken driver

Miller [Texas Equusearch founder] said they hope to find Nehra before rain arrives on Tuesday.

It's 48-feet deep under the bridge and we've gotta pretty good current running right now," he said. "The rain is really going to hurt us. It'll make the currents faster and flood the river even more."

He said stronger currents from the rain could push Nehra's body further down river and "there's a strong possibility we wouldn't be able to find him."

River search expanded for Good Samaritan who went missing at bridge accident site

"We've been on this river four days,"said Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquuSearch, as he stood on the deck of a sonar-equipped boat. "I went more than 20 miles downstream this morning."

This happened to a man who went to help his son with a flat tire on 249 a few weeks ago! What is wrong with drivers in this area? Be AWARE when you drive!

I am so sorry for this man!

Good Samaritan’s body found nearly 60 miles south of New Territory
A body found in the Brazos River near Clute on Saturday afternoon is believed to be the remains of a Fort Bend County man who was apparently knocked off a bridge near New Territory – 60 miles to the northwest – last Sunday night.

Omg...this is just horrible. I hope they find that driver and he does a lot of years in prison. Ugh, no excuse for not stopping.
    Just my opinion, of course.

Looking for the official ID update took me to a GFM for assistance for Puneet's family. It has closed at about 150% of goal and they are now redirecting potential donors to Texas Equusearch and Chinmaya Mission Houston.

The community response for Puneet's loved ones is nothing short of amazing. Easy to find by a google search.
