SDSO is asking for helping in location a missing couple.

They were last seen leaving the Valley View Casino in Valley Center on Sunday, May 10th at around 2:00 pm. According to relatives, Knutson and Bedwell had planned on going to their son's home in La Quinta in Riverside County. They never arrived.

They have also not returned to where they live in Anaheim, CA.

Knutson and Bedwell were driving their 2014 White Hyundai Sonata with California license plate: 7EHE981.

Their son told NBC 7 he was expecting them for Mother's Day dinner at 4 p.m.

Deputies said the couple was last seen leaving the casino in Valley Center at about 2 p.m. on Mother’s Day. They did not return to their home in Anaheim and both of their cell phones were turned off, their son said.

The couple's son said Sunday night that he had been driving the area surrounding the casino, but found no trace of them.

concerning story... hope they are safe.

This adds to the concern...

Knutson and Bedwell are considered at risk because of their ages, the sergeant said. A Silver Alert was issued by the California Highway Patrol. The two are also diabetic, said Knutson's daughter, Kristen Smith. She said their disappearance is very out of character.

I wonder if they've looked at footage from inside the casino also to see if they had eaten at any point - might give an indication if it could be an issue of one being disoriented if their sugar levels were off perhaps?

Like if they maybe didn't eat thinking they would be fine until they got to La Quinta?

Glad they've at least looked at this bit...I do hope they consider looking at all the interior footage given the health issues also.

The surveillance footage shows Cecil Knutson, 79, picking up his wife, Dianna Bedwell, 68, from Valley View Casino about 2 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.

Gives the bit about it now being a Silver Alert and the diabetes and it being out of character because:

"My stepmother is constantly on the phone with one of us," Smith said. "We're trying to keep ourselves busy with getting the story out and getting help."

Now they've added info about the other cell phone's last location:

Smith said deputies used cell towers to locate her parents' phones, as well. Her stepmother's phone showed up near the casino. Her dad's phone last registered about 13 miles from the casino near Interstate 15 and Deer Springs Road in Escondido.

So her dad's was the first one we heard about that got a bit further, but it almost seems like they either have to be off so they didn't ping again or else they're still quite close, in order to explain the last pings.

They do have helicopters from both San Diego and Riverside County Sheriff Departments up searching, as well.

Per KNSD (a local SD news station) during the 11 pm broadcast:

Video from the casino shows they left at 2 pm.

Reiterating Riverside and SDSO using copters, they've driven the route several times.

Left casino (specified the door) and went left and then NB on Lake Wolford, cell phone, then another left at the end of Lake Wolford, and then onto Deer Springs Road for 10 miles until the 15 freeway entrance.

Dianna's last ping was at exit of the Valley View casino, and his 10 miles away at the 15 freeway entrance

Son Robert has been searching 20 mile stretch of road from the Casino. (He looks genuinely, genuinely concerned)

They had agreed they would meet by 4 pm in La Quinta (Near Palm Springs) at the son's home.

They had arrived at Valley View mid-morning for gambling and lunching and then left at 2 pm.

"Like a true gentlemen" (LE's statement) he pulled the car up at the entrance for her.

Mom wears a lot of jewelry and they have to take frequent potty stops b/c of her health. He worries something could have possibly happened when stopping for a restroom possibly.

They're also returning to their home every so often to check in case they show up.

I wonder if she won any little jackpots at the casino? Did someone follow them?

This is only the part that's remaining of the public portion of the CHP Silver Alert Log, but just a couple things we know they did.

No visual evidence of a new crash since they went missing on the route - not on the road, shoulders, or over the side.

Thermal w/ CHP

And checked a prior crash site for possible new evidence.

And nothing.

10:43 AM 1 [4] PTYS WERE LAST SEEN LEAVING HE VALLEY VIEW CASINO IN VALLEY CENTER ON SUNDAY MAY 10TH APPROX 1400 HRS

The 2014 White Hyundai Sonata they’re driving is equipped with a tracking device but the company says they are getting no signal. “They said as result of them not getting a reading the antenna has either been completely severed from the vehicle or buried in something like a parking garage,” said their son.

Bedwell’s cellphone appeared to have been turned off near the casino, while Knutson’s cellphone stayed on for about another 10 minutes,

Bedwell and Knutson were both diabetic and were in need of medication.

Investigators showed [Acosta, their son] surveillance video of his parents inside the casino. He said, “It shows my parents having a good time at a slot machine.”

They also showed him video of them getting in their white Hyundai Sonata and driving away. But what's most troubling for Acosta is what detectives told him happened next.

“My mom's phone was shut off fairly quickly after leaving the casino.” About 15 minutes later their dad's phone was shut off as they drove on Highway 15 near Deer Springs Road. “My mom doesn't turn her phone off, my dad doesn't turn his phone off. They don't call me without saying hey we're leaving the casino now,” he said. The fact that they didn't do that is an issue for us.”

Yeah the turning cell phones off is quite troubling. I wonder if they stopped some where along those 15 minutes.... If Diannas was turned off fairly quickly after leaving, that really doesn't give much time to run into someone, or does it... UGh I feel so bad for the children.

Would they pick up a hitch hiker? Possibly asked to use her phone and then turned it off, and eventually Cecils too.

Some people are just to kind, one day my jeep was acting up.. And I pulled over and some nice older man pulled up right away and asked if I need help. I understand I am a female, but no doubt in my mind this older man would of pulled up if I was a male too.

So they saw them leave the casino on surveillance on foot walking to their car or them getting in the car? I'm thinking either someone was waiting for them back at the car or a carjacking, but then again it's 2:00 in the afternoon, I'm sure the first 15 minutes of the trip from the casino to their son's are well travelled roads?

The shutting off of phones and not calling the son to say they were on the road and headed to his house concerns me, especially since it's something they normally do.

What also concerns me is their GPS tracking on the vehicle not picking up a signal.

I was confused over if they saw them get into car, or just left, and I believe they saw them get into the car on video.

“My gut says they are trapped and my mom is telling my dad ‘don’t worry my son is going to find us.”

Aww that is so sad to think about.

The tracking device on the car is not picking up either, I wonder if they did go off the road. I would think it would be around the 15 minute mark..... Unless both cell phones died that day.

Helicopters from the San Diego County and the Riverside County sheriff's departments are scouring the area between Valley Center and La Quinta for the couple's car. The distance from Valley Center to La Quinta is about 100 miles.

Smith (their daughter) said deputies used cell towers to locate her parents' phones, as well. Her stepmother's phone showed up near the casino. Her dad's phone last registered about 13 miles from the casino near Interstate 15 and Deer Springs Road in Escondido.

The couple had not returned to their mobile home in Anaheim. A helicopter search by San Diego sheriff's Monday yielded nothing.

I'd say that they are at the bottom of a canyon somewhere close to the last phone placement. If the car went over a cliff The tracker died at the same time they did.
