A music teacher in Collingwood, Melbourne has been stabbed as she stepped out of her car on her way into school. A man who 'smelt to high heaven' crept up behind Jenny Occleshaw on Cromwell Street and stabbed her in the leg as he tried to steal her laptop. Jenny also sustained bruising to the head. It happened at 7.30am in broad daylight.

She was able to run into the Collingwood College building and seek help. The attacker did not get her laptop and after she was released from hospital Jenny said 'it could have been a lot worse'. What really upset her was that the attack caused her to miss an important meeting - she was due to give evidence at an inquiry into domestic violence today.

Police are keen to catch the man before he attacks again and are asking for the public's help. The man is about 175cms (5ft 9), pale, slim, wearing a dirty, white hooded top and has a strong body odour.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at the Crime Stoppers website.
