I think this could be James Egan, who disappeared from San Francisco on August 6, 1972.

Age (18) is within two years
Race (Caucasian) matches
Wore gold wire-framed glasses
Timing (a little under 3 1/2 years between Date LKA and UID’s discovery) is consistent
Distance (about 30 miles between Bolinas and San Francisco) works very well
Circumstances also line up; Egan was in San Francisco when he talked to his parents over his phone to say he’d be hitchhiking to Denver, CO fairly soon to catch a flight back home in Wisconsin. He never arrived and there’s no evidence he ever even made it to Denver.

The only negative I can see is that Egan had a deformity on one hand from an accident, but 1) we don’t know how obvious this deformity was and whether it’d be noted during an autopsy, and 2) not all of the UID’s bones were recovered.

Is there no facial reconstruction of Doe?
I didn’t see one...I didn’t search thoroughly, just a keyword search that I usually do to find any other sites, Doe Network, etc. It would be nice to have a few more details though IMO
