Mod's, I hope I'm putting this in the correct place. This story is fascinating. I couldn't find a thread on it, but my search engine on here is giving me fits.

Cold Case Missing Person Squad detectives have recently announced a $1 million reward for information surrounding the suspicious disappearance of Debbie Bunworth.

Debbie Lorraine Bunworth was last seen alive at the Newport Railway Station on Friday 6 September 1985.

$1 Million dollar reward. Do you know what happened to Debbie Bunworth

I'm hoping that more info will come into light soon. Recently married into the Bunworth family and was fascinated when my partner showed me the family tree and saw the word missing under her name. They just don't seem to mention it until yesterday my father in law mentioned that they hadn't heard from a cousin and the grandma fears that its another missing person. But I was just informed that her last sighting was actually Flinders Street Station, she was dropped at Newport but was seen alive at Flinders and then vanished from there. The lack of information is driving me crazy, I know i'm new to the family but I am true crime/missing persons obsessed and it makes me so sad not having any kind of answers.

Bump.

I thought this one deserved a bit more attention. In 2015 the police announced a $1m dollar reward. They also announced they had visited South Australia to interview a 'person of interest'. To date this seems to have led nowhere. However this latter news made me wonder. Bunworth was involved in the drugs scene ( and possibly other criminal activities) in St Kilda, the centre of crime in Melbourne. That area was run by the Pettingill crime family in the 1980s (and 90s), who have strong connections to South Australia. Could she have run foul of one of their thugs? The police have never named the POI, but it is certain that the Pettingills would not hesitate to kill anyone who crossed them.
Pure speculation, but if wrong it would be interesting if anyone has any info on the POI.
