Georgia police officer saves 2 lives in separate incidents during 1 shift
Hero doesn't quite do you justice, Officer Nathan Ernst. I told a friend's little boy about what a hero the officer was and he was soo impressed. He said "Wow, he should tell people to touch his biceps! They probably do anyway." :giggle:
Sgt. Derrick Voss is a hero as well. He helped Sgt. Nathan Ernst carry the woman out of the fire to safety.

Nathan Ernst, a sergeant with the Holly Springs Police Department, first saved a man who had overdosed on heroin, then a few hours later removed a woman with cerebral palsy from a burning home.
The call for the heroin overdose came at about 8:50 p.m., according to MyFoxAtlanta.com. Ernst found the unresponsive man in an abandoned home and gave him a dose of Narcan, a drug used to counteract the effects heroin, and the man quickly woke up.
Two hours later, at 10:53 p.m., Ernst received a call that a physically disabled woman was trapped in her hospital bed in a burning home. ABC reports the door and roof were on fire, bur Ernst and another officer, Sgt. Derrick Voss of the of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, were able to carry the woman to safety.
Sgt. Derrick Voss is a hero as well. He helped Sgt. Nathan Ernst carry the woman out of the fire to safety.
"They're both heroes. Without them, I wouldn't have a family today," Ronnie Callahan, the brother of the rescued woman, tells MyFoxAtlanta.com.
"This is what we do. This is what we love to do," Ernst said. "When we become a police officer, our job is to help anybody in any situation."
