Detroit police search for Chantel Carrington, missing woman who vanished June 6 after leaving church
DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Detroit Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a woman who disappeared after leaving church.

Chantel Carrington was last seen in the area of Trumbull and West Warren at around 6:00 p.m. on June 6.

She is reportedly in good physical and mental condition.

Chantel is described as a black female around 5'-7" and 175 pounds with brown eyes and long straight black hair.

She has brown eyes and long straight black hair that she was wearing in a ponytail.

When she disappeared, Carrington was wearing a black blouse, black leggings and black and white gym shoes.

Older case - I think this is the same person, though this name is spelled "Shantell".

Article says she was found deceased about a month after she went missing

Shantell Carrington was at Delores Bennett Park at Brush and Smith with her boyfriend and another couple on her birthday last June.

She got sick, went back a car to rest and vanished.
More than a month later she was found dead with a gunshot wound to the chest near an abandoned house at Alexandrine and Chene. The killer is still on the run.

Yes, that is definitely the same person. RIP. I hope they find out who left her like that.

It helps if you alert with the triangle in the lower left corner of every post. Sometimes I will run across a thread that has been waiting for an update for days/weeks. It's impossible to read every post. Thanks for asking.

Thank you Kate! I originally did hit the triangle but then wasn't sure if that was right to do because of the message saying it was only for spam or inappropriate posts or whatever, so it gave me pause. But now I know and will do that should I find something in the future.

I believe it says she was last seen with her husband? I wonder if they have been able to rule him out. I'm really curious what happened to this beautiful lady. I have to get ready for school now but will search some when I get home to see if there have been any newer updates.

This was posted on YouTube 2 days ago. It's an informational video from CrimeStoppers asking for anyone with information on her murder to come forward. There are pictures of where she was found and more details of her story. I hope YT links are OK. It's got a lot of information about Ms Carrington.

She was last seen near a park that she went to with her boyfriend. She went to the car because she didn't feel well, and when the bf returned to the car he says she was gone. She was found near an abandoned building about 3 miles from the park with a gunshot wound to the chest. She wasn't found until about a week after she went missing, but it doesn't say how long they think she had been deceased.

She had 3 children, went by the name of Mo and there is a $2500 reward being offered. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers. 1 800 SPEAK UP and it IS ANONYMOUS!
