    NY - Diana Perez, 42, Bronx, 14 June 2015

    http://bronx.news12.com/news/family-...dog-1.10550094

THE BRONX - Diana Perez was last seen walking her white English pit bull terrier Sunday morning, according to friends and family.

The 42-year-old woman never returned home, but investigators found the dog miles away from her White Plains Road home.

The dog was found tied to a gate at 156th Street and Bruckner Boulevard at around 5 p.m. that afternoon, according to the ASPCA.

Perez has a son whose prom was held Tuesday night, prompting further concerns from those close to the family. They say she wouldn't have missed the event.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call is 1-800-577-TIPS.

English pit bull terrier? There isn't a recognized breed called that, although doing a google search there are some images of "Bull Terriers" (think Spuds McKenzie, and the Target Dog) called English Pitbull Terriers.

Reason I bring this up, these are distinctive looking dogs and someone is likely to have remembered seeing her on her walk.

Looking at a map, it's highly unlikely the dog could have gotten there without being transported by vehicle - it's a much longer distance than a dog and a woman would walk. If the dog did continue on and walk that distance alone, surely someone saw it.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

From above. Dog appears to be injured. They are still searching. Husband says this was her daily routine. She would not miss son's graduation.

I would like to know what is wrong with the dog. It might be a big clue in what happened to Diana. I wonder if they have taken the dog to a vet.

    Its a bull terrier.

Family members say that Perez was last seen walking her Bull Terrier 8 a.m. Sunday around White Plains Road and the Cross Bronx Expressway. The dog was found at about 5 p.m. tied up to a hydrant on Bruckner Boulevard and East 156th, according to the ASPCA.

Perez was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white tank top. She is described as 5 feet and 8 inches tall with brown eyes and brown hair.

"This has never happened before, she would never leave or disappear,” Rivera said.”She would never do that to her family and friends.”

He fears something bad has happened to her.

“She wouldn’t abandon her son, and she would not abandon that dog,” Rivera said. “She loves the dog almost as much as she loves her son and for us to find the dog miles away from home, injured, limping and is still depressed, she would not do something like that.”

    Snipped

Missing person flyers have been posted all over Parkchester and Perez’s family will hold a candle light vigil at 5 p.m. Friday.

Perez is 5’8″ tall and weighs 110 pounds, with brown eyes and red hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white tank top.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.

I live locally, and have seen nothing on the news about this woman's disappearance-is it possible to have just missed it every day this week? Diana is definitely not getting the kind of coverage that she should.

Graduation from middle to high school. Some people even refer to passing a grade as graduating to the next grade.

Anyone know the extent of the dogs injuries?
