This is only my second thread post here, so I hope I did this correctly! If there are any edits a mod can make, please do.

This case may be linked to Kaylan Ward, 16, also found on I-10 ran over.

Jasilas' body was not found intact. A driver has been arrested, and it is believed she may have been kidnapped (at time of posting) -- they believe multiple drivers hit her, but are unsure if any had intent to do so.

According to NOPD the two deaths are unrelated.

"Jasilas Wright, whose body was found on Interstate 10 earlier this week, died after jumping out of a car being driven by her boyfriend, Adam Littleton, who had kidnapped her hours earlier, according to a joint investigation by the Louisiana State Police and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office."

"The identification of Littleton would appear to indicate that Wright's death was not tied to the death of 16-year-old Kaylan Ward, whose body was also found in similar condition on I-10 near Bullard Avenue six days earlier. Although NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison said this week that there was no evidence linking the two deaths, many in the public had speculated the deaths were somehow connected."

The Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office has charged Adam “Sip” Littleton with manslaughter in the death of Jasilas Wright...

Littleton, 23, pleaded not guilty to the charge before a commissioner in 24th Judicial District Court and is being held in the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center...

The document indicates prosecutors believe Littleton committed manslaughter by striking Wright with his car, then fleeing the scene.

Murder trial in death of teen found on I-10 postponed until June

Adam Littleton will head to trial in June to defend himself against charges that he bears responsibility for the death Jasilas Wright, a teenager who was killed on Interstate 10 in Metairie after being hit by several vehicles.

Littleton's second-degree murder trial was scheduled to get underway Monday (March 6) in the 24th Judicial District Court. But Judge Lee Faulkner granted a request for a continuance filed March 1 by Littleton's attorney, Nandi Campbell, following the death of her mother, according to court records.

Littleton's new trial date is June 19.

Jefferson Parish Assistant District Attorneys Kellie Rish and Megan Gorman say Littleton, 25, Wright's pimp, forced her into his vehicle during the early morning hours of June 10, 2015, following an argument and watched her jump from his moving car onto the highway.

"The only way she could get out was to jump. He saw her being hit by a car. He failed to stop and render aid," said Rish, who told jurors sex trafficking played a role in Wright's tragic story.

But Littleton's attorneys, Nandi Campbell and Gregory Carter said Littleton did not have Wright under a spell. She willingly engaged in prostitution.

"There's zero evidence that Adam murdered this young lady. Zero evidence that he forced her out the of the car. Zero evidence that he pushed her out of that car," Carter said.

The mandatory sentence for a second-degree murder conviction is life in prison. Sentencing will be held at 9 a.m. Aug. 22.

Judge considers motion for new trial in Jasilas Wright I-10 death

http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2017/10/judge_considers_motion_for_new.html

Adam Littleton, 26, of Mississippi, was scheduled to be sentenced Friday (Oct. 27). Instead, Judge Lee Faulkner of the 24th Judicial Court took testimony for Littleton's motion for a new trial.

Littleton's new defense attorney, Paul Barker, argued on Friday his client deserved a new trial because of errors made during the proceedings and new evidence that came to light after the verdict.

Prosecutors didn't tell the defense that Stephanie Walker, the state's "star witness" in the case, was wanted on warrants for two counts of theft in Texas during the murder trial, Barker said. She was jailed in Dallas five days after the trial ended. The information could have been used to impeach Walker's credibility and likely would have affected the jurors' decision, he said.

Judge denies new trial for Adam Littleton in killing of French Quarter dancer

Adam Littleton's attorney requested the new trial last month, saying jurors should have been told that a key trial witness was wanted on two separate felonies in Texas when she testified during the trial in July. The defense had argued that it would have used that information to impeach her credibility.

State District Judge Lee Faulkner, however, said Thursday that the witness, Stephanie Walker, did have a known criminal history. He said he went back and listened to her testimony and noted the defense never questioned her about any of it.
