A new concept in missing persons sites. It is an open source concept based on the engine wikipedia is built on. The focus is missing person pages.

This site is a work in progress using a wiki interface to hold a Missing Persons database. http://wiki.missingabducted.com

Anyone can edit the wiki. Anyone can contribute, change, and add. Most websites you frequent are static — meaning you only read them and they may be outdated. The down side of static webpages for missing people is that the friends, families and those concerned have to wait for someone (staff or otherwise) to update the pages. This allows all interested parties to update pages as often as they choose and is a very different model of community activism. As soon as a friends and family are putting up fliers, they can put up their virtual flier here as well. Since YOU control the content, there is no waiting. And all pages are crawled by 50 or 60 search engines, so information you post here will be available to anyone who searches for your missing person's name over time.

Simply type your missing person's name in the search, and if there is no match, click on the "build an article using this title link" . Use the The Missing Template for your new page layout. There are discussion page tabs for all missing person pages on the site.

This is your place, your resource, and your voice.

What we are trying to do is create an encyclopedia to record missing persons stories and information. This is an experiment in community and a project that can be fruitful for years to come to victims, families and other concerned parties.

Everyone these days has their own personal blog. They write down everyday activities, things they do, places they go. But how about a topic itself? Imagine this as sort of a "blog" for all missing cases and people. A place for sharing, listening, and exploring.

The topics and room for exploration are endless.

What the wiki contains and means is up to you. As a general rule you should contribute content you think will be helpful or insightful to others, but even this rule can be broken at times. Interesting things will stay, and bad contributions will pass with time. Never be afraid to try something new, to edit something, to make your voice heard.

The first Missing Persons on the site are Nita Mayo, Julie Popovich, Amanda Jones, Jodie Renee Collie

This website is the greatest, I have already started adding cases. Once it is more complete, it will be a great resource. Everyone should check it out.

We are currently trying to restore a couple of pages that got corrupted.

We are back up and do not believe we lost anything.
