Identified! WA - Franklin Co., WhtMale UP13942, in Columbia River, Jun'15 - Jacob Cook

Body of a white male, under 40 years old, found in Columbia River in Franklin County, WA on June 6, 2015. UID has tattoo under right collarbone of an "Omega" symbol, but may also be a Leo or Libra sign.

Weight- 165
Height- 75"

Wearing white socks and gray athletic shorts.

Estimated year of death is 2015.

i dont think it is the lululemon logo. that is a yoga clothing line for women.

I was looking and it looks similar, but I don't think it is that either. It also looks like an Ohm symbol. Ω

It is basically same as Omega.

Yep, looks more like a Leo than Omega to me. The only Omega tattoos I know of are 1) associated with Omega Psi Phi, an African-American fraternity. Never seen it as an actual ink tattoo, generally done with a bent coat hanger and dry ice on the bicpep, more a burn scar, and 2) Part of a Christian tattoo, along with an Alpha. I assume this man had no Alpha to go along with the Omega or they would have mentioned it.

Although some details are missing/off, I think this is probably him. I could not find any confirmation, but did see that TW was still missing as of March.

I am unfamiliar with the river... Do the flow and locations make sense?

Eta: took out link (see below) just in case, but just said Portland fire and rescue searched the river for him but did not find him.

I tried to find info about which direction the river flowed. Coudn't determine it.

I emailed the case manager about the possibility and she said they would look into it.

There's another I'm wondering about, but there is some conflicting info. In a news article about the UID, it says the tattoo is on his LEFT collarbone. In NAMUS it says RIGHT collarbone.

IF the NAMUS post is wrong, there's a missing man from Alaska who has a Leo tattoo on his left shoulder. His height, weight, etc match up. If the UID body was too decomposed when they found him, perhaps the other tattoo was not seen.

The Columbia River flows from the Rockies west through Portland enter the Pacific at the Washington-Oregon state border. Franklin County is way upstream. I-84 follows the river very closely for a good part of the way.

Early last week, family in Kennewick spotted media reports about the unidentified body, which was one of at least 146 statewide. Dawn was able to get in touch with Blasdel, who sent her a picture of the distinct tattoo.

“I knew right then it was him,” said Dawn, who had seen the tattoo after Jacob recently got it.
