Police in the German town of Kiel received a tip from Berlin authorities that they should look again at a house that had previously been searched for stolen Nazi art.
They did, and found a 45-ton WW2 Panzer tank, a large anti-aircraft gun and a torpedo in the 78-year-old's home. It took soldiers several hours to remove the collection.
While prosecutors say the man might be sued for breaking German weapon laws, his lawyers say they were all 'demilitarized' and registered. The local mayor maintains the tank was no secret and recalls the man chugging around in it as far back as 1978, during a snow disaster.
