Police are searching for a Manhattan chef who allegedly murdered his estranged wife in front of their 3-year-old daughter in Queens.

The woman, Fanny Jara-Anguisaca, was last seen alive Saturday after her husband, Robert Jara-Coello, picked her up at work.

The body was discovered two days after the husband allegedly stabbed her to death, when the girl told relatives what she had seen.

A former chef at a Manhattan nightclub has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for fatally stabbing his wife with a steak knife in August, the Queens district attorney, Richard A. Brown, said yesterday. The man, Louis Roberto Jara Coello, 31, of Woodside, pleaded guilty on Nov. 29 to first-degree manslaughter. Mr. Brown said Mr. Coello admitted that during an argument at his home he stabbed his wife, Fanny Anguisaca, 29, a hairdresser. The couple had separated three weeks earlier. After the stabbing, Mr. Brown said, Mr. Coello fled with their 3-year-old daughter, who was in the house at the time of the stabbing.
