GUILTY IL - Laneesha Miller, 28, Chicago, 16 June 2015 *Arrests*

Police are seeking the public's help in locating a 28-year-old woman who hasn't been heard from since leaving the Washington Heights neighborhood for a trip to Georgia.

A friend last saw Laneesha Miller on June 16 in the 9600 block of South Halsted, according to an alert from Chicago Police.

On June 21, she called her father and told him she would be driving to Georgia the next day, but family members there say she never arrived.

Police continue to investigate the disappearance of a Georgia woman who was last seen in Chicago last month.

According to our sister station WFLD, police were on the hunt in Marquette Park Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. Officials said they are searching the lagoon near California Avenue after receiving a tip that a man possibly killed his girlfriend, cut her into pieces and then dumped those remains in the water.

Chicago police said they are draining the Marquette Park lagoon to search for the body of a missing Georgia woman.

Laneesha Miller, 28, was reported missing on June 27. Chicago police have been looking for the missing mother of two for over two weeks, but just began searching the lagoon on Tuesday night.

The body of 28-year-old Laneesha Miller was discovered Thursday afternoon in the Little Calumet River near the Bishop Ford Freeway and 135th Street.

Her body had been dismembered and put into four suitcases before being dumped into the river...

Meyers struck Miller in the head with a hammer... then choked her to death, wrapped the body in a shower curtain and put it in the trunk of her Nissan Maxima, Kleist said. Meyers drove around for a while before deciding to dismember the body, he said.
