Volunteers are searching for 19-year-old Joseph Keller of Cleveland, Tennessee. Sheriff’s Deputies say Keller was last seen Thursday near Rainbow Trout Ranch in Antonito, Colorado

Probably not allowed, but it sheds some light on what happened:

MISSING PERSON:
Many of you probably already know this, but Joe Keller, Christian Fetzner, and I are on a cross country road trip and are currently in Colorado. On July 23, 2015 at 4:25 p.m. Mountain time, Joe and I went on a run. Our plan was to run for 1 hour. I ran ahead of him and ran 30 minutes in one direction and then turned around and nobody saw him after that. Joe is 5'6" or 5'7" and about 153 pounds. I'll keep everyone updated on any new findings via facebook. The first picture is of the shoes he was wearing. We believe they may be Merrell or Brooks brand, but aren't sure. Message me if you can identify them. The second picture shows Joe's build and the third picture shows his face.

I am not sure how old he is, but he just finished highschool. I have a (very) distant connection to him.

Last August we were in Platoro, which isn't too, too far away from Antonito.
It's a gorgeous area. Lots of mountains.
I hope he is safe and found soon.

What the heck? I hope they're scouring the sides of they path he was running, he could have had an injury and fallen toward the side into foliage.
I feel terrible for his running partner...

I'm thinking maybe he fell off a cliff somwhere. jmo.

That's some high elevation, too.

"The ranch rises to over 10,000’ at the north end before it drops down into the river valley."

I wonder if they were used to running in this elevation?
I am used to over 6 thousand feet, but running around 10 thousand feet is taxing if a person is not used to it.
IMOO.

Unfortunately you could be right.
I haven't been in this area, but I have been in Platoro, Jasper area, and those mountains are pretty steep.
We took my cousins ATV's out riding last year. It was a blast, but there are some trails/roads that are a bit scary.
IMOO.

Prayers for Joe, I pray you are safe until help arrives!!

How well does he know the area?
Is it possible he met up with someone he knew, and they left together?
Just throwing out ideas.
IMOO.

Under the post about Joe Keller being missing,
there is a comment that he does have family in Conejos County.

Maybe he did meet up with someone?
IMOO.

But earlier in this thread one of the msm links said he was on a cross country road trip with 2 friends. I don't know when they are planning to move on from Colorado but if possible, it seems he needs to keep in touch better with his travelling companions.

Right, the comment mentioned that they were on a cross country trip and they already went to CA. He has family in Conejos County, Colorado and they were on their way back home.
I agree, if he did leave on his own, meet up with someone, then communication is key if his travel companions weren't aware he had made additional plans, etc.
All My Opinion.

No one just takes off during a jogging, right?

Who knows?
People take off for all kinds of reasons.
Ksenia Quiros of Colorado Springs was in Cheyenne Canyon and was walking and hiking.
Her truck was at Stratton Open Space.
I was on the search party for her.
She was also suicidal.
She had diphenhydramine intoxication and died of hypothermia.
The weather was wild in April. We searched for Ksenia in the snow.

There is a thread for Ksenia on WS.
