Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

    Oh jeez not another child!
Autistic + boats + water = we can likely guess the outcome but hopefully this story will have a happy ending!

Hopefully there will be another article soon with more information. Surely he wasn't outside by himself at night.

    Such a beautiful little boy.

Both articles say he was looking at boats outside with his father - so he must have disappeared very quickly?

I wonder if he could have boarded a boat somehow and hidden under some sort of covers?

If there are witnesses who were certain he was there, I think he's almost certain he drowned. By this time, anyone who pulled up to the restaurant in a boat has taken their boat home and would have discovered him.

So according to their website, the restaurant is open til 10, and he disappeared around 11.

So that means they must have gotten there before 10 - restaurants won't seat people after that. They had been there for an hour at least by the time he went missing - there would obviously be witnesses who saw him there and can verify he was at the restaurant.

    Sorry to be so jaded.

Oh dear!!! They found his little body in the water. So unbelievably sad! RIP little precious one. Not the outcome anyone wanted.
