"On Sunday, August 2, 2015, at approximately 5 p.m., a 17-year-old girl was walking northbound on the west side of Hwy 27, in the area of Humber College Boulevard

- the girl was approached by two unknown men

- she was threatened and pulled into a nearby ravine where she was sexually assaulted by both men

Suspect # 1 is described as mid-30s, 5'7", muscular build, black, dark complexion, brown eyes, short black hair (some grey), clean-shaven, round face with large eyebrows, large lips and large nose. He was wearing a white short-sleeved T-shirt, baggy blue jeans frayed at the cuff, white Nike shoes, a silver chain around his neck, and a brown leather (1-inch wide) wristband on the left wrist.

Suspect #2 is described as early-20s, 6'1", thinner build than suspect #1, black, dark complexion, short black hair, clean-shaven, round face with a crooked or broken nose. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a faded Adidas logo on the front, blue jeans and black shoes."

awww...poor girl. I am glad they did not kill her. It is a sad world when I am relieved that a teen is not killed but 'only' gang raped. :sigh:

No kidding, that is a sad world... How awful and traumatic for this girl. I have my own 17 yr old and couldn't imagine something like this happening to her.

When I saw the description of the suspects my first thought was I wonder if Toronto is facing a growing rape epidemic similar to that which has afflicted countries like Sweden and the UK.

To see what I mean Google "Sweden rape wave" and "Rotherham rape" (or just click links below)

https://www.google.ca/#q=sweden+rape+wave

https://www.google.ca/#q=rotherham+rape

I note that this crime took place very near a very large housing complex called "Little Mogadishu".

If my hunch is correct I am sure that Toronto police and politicians will - like their British and Swedish counterparts - do all they can to hush up the facts of this growing rape epidemic. <modsnip> IT'S SICKENING !

" Muslim street cleric wants to protect Canadian women from sex assault by forcing them to cover up"

July 16, 2012

"Al-Haashim Kamena Atangana, a 33-year-old Islamic convert, called for legal change in response to recent sex attacks at York University.

Atangana is connected with a group called Muslim Support Network and is one of a number of street-corner clerics commonly seen at the Yonge and Dundas Sts.

In an e-mail to the Toronto Sun, Atangana said "the reason ... these sex attacks are continuously happening is because (of) Canadian laws, which give too much freedom to women" when it comes to how they dress.

"You should take your example from the way Muslim women dress," he wrote. "Why does (sic) Muslim women who wear long dress and covers her head aren't targeted for sex attacks?"

The clash between western culture and values and the beliefs of some Muslim adherents has been a source of controversy and conflict across North America.

Atangana, who plans to distribute his views on paper in the coming weeks, went on to state that "the reason ... a woman gets raped is because of the way she (dresses)," and suggests that "Toronto (become) the first city in North America to introduce laws that would make it illegal for women to dress provocatively."

Opposite direction, but seems to have some similarities..
Another 17 year old girl recently attacked.

"on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at approximately 11:15 p.m., a 17-year-old woman was walking eastbound on Ashtonbee Road and Pharmacy Avenue

- as the woman was passing the reservoir, she was approached by an unknown man who emerged from the park

- the woman was pulled into a nearby secluded area, within the park, and was sexually assaulted by the unknown man

- the assault was interrupted by the sound of a vehicle driving by

- the man fled into the park

The man is described as black, approximately 30, 6'2", medium build with short black hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a white sweater with the hood pulled up at the time of the assault."

To be attacked anytime is scary, but 5pm on a Sunday afternoon makes it all the more disturbing - that seems like a "safe" time of day.

The good news is the descriptions are detailed. I sure hope that helps catch the perps.

He must be good friends with former Constable Michael "women should avoid dressing like *advertiser censored* in order not to be victimized" Sanguinetti.

"You know, I think we're beating around the bush here," Michael Sanguinetti began, blandly enough, as he addressed the 10 students who turned up for the pep talk. Then he said: "I've been told I'm not supposed to say this – however, women should avoid dressing like *advertiser censored* in order not to be victimised."

I guess this guy forgot how many muslim women are raped over in the middle east all the time and then blamed for it and lashed or stoned etc..so apparently dressing this way doesn't appear to help. Maybe they should just start poking mens eyeballs out, that should help right?

Blaming women for being raped is unfortunately universal. Religion, culture, country - it happens everywhere. There's almost always a way to make it the woman's fault.
